I will give this thread the 'ol bump because apparently this Asian NFL Cheerleader wants to take Negreanu for a ride and she is decent looking imo.

Daniel is down to meet her I guess:

Well hello Alicia! Looks like I have a fan and a meet and greet can be arranged :-) http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1...eaders/page/54...

Is she the one for him? KidPoker better get in this girl imo.

Haha, I nearly quoted that tweet as well but I didn't want to put the users through that misery.

Off topic, but the "Sylvia" in that video looks over 50 (at least from what I can tell via the grainy resolution), and yet her arms look muscular like she works out every day.

There is something I find really gross about a woman over 50 who looks buff.

Muscular women under 40 can be hot, provided they don't get too extreme and don't start to resemble men, but it just looks weird when you see an older lady with well-defined biceps but otherwise wrinkled skin.

I noticed that weird-looking Indian guy (see earlier in this thread) is no longer one of the officers at Choice Center. I wonder what happened to him.

OMG that video is 2 hours long, and it's just Sylvia speaking in front of a whiteboard the entire time.

How does anyone sit through 2 hours of some woman talking about gratitude?

I think I'd rather watch paint dry.

    So why the "F" rating?
Did anyone actually follow the link to the BBB website? I did and Choice Center had an A+ rating posted. Regarding the general misinformation about LGATs, they are not cults just because they are LGATs. If DN experienced benefits from his experience with Choice Center, that's his prerogative. If anybody seriously thinks one of the world's best poker players is gullible and weak-minded, I'd suggest that they provide more evidence of this than Choice Center.

Not for nothing but the BBB doesn't matter for shit. They are nothing more than an extortion racket that elicits dues from companies in order to give a false sense of security to consumers. They created a market just like Carfax where they have convinced the average consumer that if you aren't doing things their way you are somehow cheating the public.

Not sure why anyone would sign up for this...read a book

Pretty certain DW saw how much DN won last year and thought that if he did this he would win too.

Brian Rast attended Choice for one week recently, and gave his thoughts to SrslySirius about it:

Negreanu's coming off like an insane person. He's getting absolutely torched in that thread over on 2+2. I was ready to chime in before someone created the account Aman125 and pretty much demolished Choice Center in a single post: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sh...&postcount=349

He makes several important points. Specifically, he pulled a quote from Skepdic.com that is particularly cogent:

Those of us who have been trained to study philosophy and psychology, who have a deep sense of the nature of speculation and empirical research, are able to recognize the pseudoscientific nature of such programs. Testimonials do not validate a self-help program. There is significant post hoc reasoning by both gurus and their followers. We are aware of the role of subjective validation, confirmation bias, wishful thinking, the regressive fallacy, and communal reinforcement in the success of such programs. Little or no research done by the promoters of these programs to (a) test causal claims that might establish some degree of effectiveness to their methods; (b) establish clear criteria for what counts as "successful" training; (c) keep records of "failures" or those who feel ripped off or harmed by the program. We also know that repeat business is what keeps these programs thriving, though the irony of this fact seems lost on those who keep taking one more course for good measure. Nevertheless, despite the lack of proof that these programs work the way their advocates claim, and despite the fact that many trainers are overly zealous in their recruitment of participants in seminars and advanced seminars, many participants feel they benefit greatly from such programs. However, research has shown that the feelings of having benefited greatly from participation in an LGAT do not correspond to beneficial changes in behavior. Also, many of those who feel they have benefited do not understand that others may not feel they benefit at all from such programs. To their healthy friends and family members, the zealot may appear to have been brainwashed. Their enthusiasm seems unnatural and disproportionate. If they were unbalanced before taking the program, they may appear to have gone beyond "breakthrough" into "breakdown."
Every sentence that Negreanu has uttered about Choice Center reeks of pseudoscience. It has all the tell-tales signs of pseudoscience:

-Anecdotal evidence to suggest it works: Daniel knows a "bunch" of people it's worked for
-Confirmation bias: Pointing to all the people it has worked for, ignoring cases when it hasn't worked or even done harm
-Cognitive dissonance: The people investing tons of money into this thing needing to justify the time and expense by believing it works
-Regression to the mean: Any poker accomplishments that Daniel attributes to Choice Center are almost certainly due to variance which will eventually come around the other way
-Ad hoc immunization: This has been his standby - claiming that whomever says it doesn't work hasn't gone through the full program - this is an egregious logical fail on several levels. If medical scientists were testing a new cancer drug but they only looked at the data of subjects who received the full drug regimen and threw out the data of people who dropped out due to side effects or even died in the middle of treatment, almost any drug tested would look like a success
-Exaggerated claims and psychobabble: Just listen to Daniel and you'll see what I mean here.
-Subjective validation: You CANNOT claim something works just because it feels like it works. This is why we do randomized control trials to test drugs and therapies. Daniel needs to read up on the Forer Effect instead of books written by other LGAT supporters which are only going to confirm what he wants to believe.

Fuck he's a dummy. I can't believe I used to respect this guy. It's like Druff said on radio, how can these seemingly smart poker players be so goddamn gullible and stupid?

Daniel says he wasn't hungry because he brought plenty of his own food.

So for $2700 they don't even provide snacks for their attendees?

The fact that he's a vegan might have had something to do with him bringing his own food.

I still contend that this does NOT qualify as a cult but sound like it is just an overpriced leadership/life-coaching seminar. I think Brian Rast covers it quite well.

It's sad but it seems that the only PokerStars pros who tell the truth are Shane Schleger, who is a crackhead and Chad Brown, who is dying from cancer.

Never clicking a Cardplayer link given that they never stopped advertising Ultimate Bet until they were long gone, and they just recently stopped with Lock. Their Ultimate Bet affiliate ads were up even up after they went out of business.
