Man...I don't know shit about music these days. The only artists I've even heard of on day 2 are Moby on line 3, Violent Femmes, who I thought broke up forever ago, and the Dropkick Murphys on line 5. How the shit are they on line 5? I thought they were pretty popular.

Aesop Rock is good, on line 5 of day 1. I would never ever have guessed that Stone Roses and Blur would co-headline a day. Glad to see Jello Biafra playing in front of young kids. It's disgusting that Lee "Scratch" Perry gets a tiny font on the 7th line. He fucking invented Dub, and the sampling he pioneered helped create both hip hop and electronic music.

He did this shit in 1968.

no one knows who he is

kind of like MiMosa and Mord Fustang...they have to build up a following.

Excision is the shit. Move over Skrillex.

I dont like the headliners this year. Gotta agree with you on that.

the smaller acts and the EDM guys will be fun.

There was a rumor that the Rolling Stones would headline this year.

    Guess that didn't happen.

The song produced in the past 20 years that has earned the Rolling Stones the most money is Bittersweet Symphony by the Verve, which the Stones have royalty rights to. Paint it Black is good. Watching a 70 year old Mick Jagger perform Paint It Black is not good.

on some random cable channel they were showing a janes addiction concert that was taped recently..

i'm a hard core janes addiciton/porno for pyros fan, but i couldn't even finish it

perry farrell has morphed into a cross between liberachi, david bowie, and mick jagger

he use to belt it out and now he just sounds like a lounge singer

There's a good chance that the concert took place a few miles from my house at Red Rock Casino. I was mad that I missed it, and then heard it was absolutely horrible.

I adore that first Janes Addiction album.

Yeah, I heard that as well.

There is still a chance that they would play Bonnaroo or ACL...slight possibility on Outside Lands. Probably not Hangout.

If they played Summerfest, that would be great. It would be a madhouse for people standing around all day in line for free lawnseats.

True story I once partied at Perry's place in Venice and met Nick Hexum in line for the bathroom. Perry dj'd and had trapeze artists and fire eaters. It was like a fucking circus.

Pretty solid lineup. Coachella seems like a nightmare to me though.

Coachella is a nightmare in the sense that everything is very expensive. You CAN camp there though, but if you want a hotel, good luck. Motel 6's were going for over 200/nt. Its also spread out over two weekends now, so you have to pretty much plan for 10-11 days of being out there, if you come from outside of CA.

The heat wasnt too brutal though, and you have several tents you can go into to get out of the sun. Its easy to go from one tent/stage to the next in 5 minutes...Lolla is a total joke to go from North to South stage. 30-45 minutes is about right.

2 hour drive and I have a few houses I could stay in and it still sounds horrible. I hate crowds although seeing New Order would be pretty cool.
