Hard to believe a site that basically does nothing other than link stories could be worth such a staggering amount.
People have probably forgotten, but Drudge was a lightly trafficked website not taken seriously by the mainstream media until he scooped the Monica Lewinsky / Bill Clinton story from Newsweek. Then he blew up. A couple years earlier he was a gift store manager in Hollywood.
It's not out of the realm of possibility this site develops a niche and takes off into the internet stratosphere. You never can tell when you are on the cusp of something. Look at the guy who founded Kentucky Fried Chicken. He basically was a failure until his mid 50s.
