JibJab releases 2012 End of the Year video, still afraid to insult Obama

The worst thing that could have happened to JibJab was Barack Obama.

Basically, the owners are in love with him.

This means that every JibJab video since 2008 has either praised Obama or virtually ignored him (because it's hard to have humor about a President without some sort of insult or slight).

They mercilessly made fun of Bush (some of it was actually very funny), and even were willing to go after Kerry during the 2004 election.

But not Obama.

He is untouchable.

This 2012 Year in Review makes almost no mention of Obama, aside from showing him "kicking the butts" of Romney and Ryan, and a praise for keeping Obamacare.

Way to skewer the President, guys.



If you are afraid to insult the President, you shouldn't be in the parody-of-American-culture business.

JibJab has always been dumb. They were cool 10 years ago when viral videos weren't a thing. They're a has-been, but for some reason a lot of MSM outlets like The Today show treat them as if anybody cares.

IMO there isn't a lot of material for making fun of Obama. Criticizing him, yes, but not so much making fun of him. He doesn't have mannerisms or gaffes that are easy to make fun of like the last few presidents/candidates have had. He's very tightly controlled in public.

only thing i can think of is that he says 'uhhhhhh' alot between thinking of what he was going to say.
