I think the whole cameo for birthdays is dumb and a bad model.
Where I’ve seen it expertly used is as a paid diss track. My fantasy football league has bought a few of these to shit talk someone and it’s literally the funniest shit ever.
I think I've said this before, but the "Cameo" branding on the videos is a value killer, in my opinion.
If you want to impress your friends that some has-been 1980s star is your buddy, you don't want a video saying "Cameo" at the bottom, which indicates you were simply lonely enough to fork out money for a 60-second insincere video.
I think Cameo would be way better if you could just make short videos of shooting the shit with these celebrities for a few minutes, or arrange to have them call you at a pre-set time.
For example, I could time a call from Todd Bridges during the first break of the WSOP Main Event, and then I could answer it on Face Time, he'd ask me how the WSOP is going, and I could shove it right into everyone's faces that Willis Jackson wanted to check on my poker tournament progress. Imagine this is like $100, and just costs him a few minutes of his time.
Actually, come to think of it, I bet I could get him to do this for a $100 in real life.
