    No trip reports?

Back a few years ago I gave an epic trip report. It was epic, cemented myself in legendary status. Every now and then, I get a PM referencing it. Shout out.

Where are the trip reports? This forum can only thrive with members posting interesting content. THIS FORUM IS NOT GROWING.

Here is the deal, I personally carried this forum the last two weeks (Sandy). I can't keep carrying the water aound here, going back to 2008 with Mr. Flair, Bob Barker, Pat Swayze (RIP old friend), Hurricanes, Travolta and some other shit.

Let's get some trip reports. I always thought China was going to step it up but he basically has mailed it in.

Who is going to step up? In 2007 I tripped up on NWP and saw a post from Jewdonk. He had this trailer on his MYSPACE account (yes, that was the rage in 2007/08). And the rest is history.

Hey Bottomset, I love your Ric Flair threads.

This trip report is almost two years old, and was originally posted on Borispoker, but I thought I'd share it here just to keep the thread alive while others think up a good trip report. Thank you for your time.

    TRIP REPORT

So online poker was dead, I had $100 coming from splithis and $150 coming in for a writing thing, so I decided to take thew whole $250 and step into my very first live cardroom. After reviewing maps I saw that I could get relatively close, and maybe there would be other buses to catch from the final stop, or worst case I'd get a cab from the final stop. So I was off to the St John's Poker Room!

    The Journey

So the bus finally drops me off. Don't see any bus stops in the area, so my plan is to walk to racetrack road and maybe get a cab from there. To get there I have to begin by walking two miles until I get to a bridge. Normally no problem, but it was mid 90s that day with no shade in sight. But I finally made it to the road that supposedly went in a straight line to the poker room. It took a couple more miles to find a shopping center where I could call a cab from and have an actual physical address they could pick me up from. I guess this area of Florida doesn't have a ton of broke people because there are no buses, and when I finally find the local cab station to call, they say that they are all busy with some concert, but if I want to pay a $15 service fee they could have a different company come over and pick me up, plus the regular charges for the ride. F that!

I needed to make it about 10 more miles by this time and I was exhausted. I'm not an outdoors guy and the sun had given me a beatdown with the miles I had already been walking. I decided I'd hitch hike and give whoever $10 for the ride. There was a pizza delivery place in the shopping center, so I took out a couple of fives and waved at the drivers when they passed by with a thumbs up point to where I'm going hitcher signal. I figured these dude complain about not getting $2-$4 tips, so surely they'd give me a ride down the road they were already traveling anyways. But there were no takers, either they ignored when driving by, or kind of mouthed a "sorry".

There weren't enough pizza delivery guys going back n forth and I think I started getting rejected by the same ones, so I decided to take drastic action. I'd wave the money at normal shoppers driving out and maybe someone would give me a ride since they were going down that way anyways. Because this was a nicer area and I look sort of like a sketchy scumbag (which works well in the hood to get people not to bother you but not so great in suburbia) I decided I'd just look for dudes, so I wouldn't scare women and children into freaking out and calling the police. There's a fine line between hipster/punk stylings and bum, and if you're not paying attention then the heavily bearded, fitted black cap, tight levi 514s, all black chuck wearing urban fashionista can come off looking like a bum with a hat and black shirt. These guys weren't biting either. It got to the point that I pulled out all $250 and started waving that with the thumbs up hitcher signal, this neighborhood was too pussy for me to worry about getting rolled for it, and I thought it would at least attract a conversation where I could make my $10 for ride offer known. But still no takers.

Even though I was exhausted and had about 10 miles to go, I thought I better get a move on and walk the rest of the way. Eventually the sun came down and the road became all trees on the side and no sidewalk. And no lights, I was walking blind on grass and dirt with the occasional car light from either side to give me my bearings. Then it became an overpass with no real sidewalk, and just a little cement up from the road connecting the don't fall over barriers on the side. I walked over and when I saw lights approaching from cars I stepped up on to the cement and clung to the barrier low hoping no one would dui smash me. My legs were killing me at this point but I knew I was close. Finally off in the distance I saw the poker room and got a surge of energy.

    Gameplay

So I made my way inside and the place was awesome. Tables everywhere, ice cold ac, talking, chips being shuffled, it was great. I was tired and my legs felt like jello so I went to the bar first and got a couple of ice waters. Then I popped a no doze and was sat at the smallest nl stakes, 2/2. I was wondering if I should buy in for $100 and then have a $100 rebuy if things went bad, or just buy in for the full $200. I decided to buy in for the full $200. The play was similar to 1c 2c fullring online preflop, but even worse postflop. I saw a guy lose a stack multiway with mid pair, saw a weak top pair get stacked. People were making pf raises anywhere from 2.5bb to 7bbs, and everyone seemed to be calling. I folded for awhile and finally picked up KK. Guy utg+1 makes it $5, a couple of callers, I 3bet, he shoves, I'm thinking "nice" and call. Superreg next to me (he seemed to know everyone in the card room and people kept coming up to talk to him) says "AA vs KK huh? Which one you got?". This made me feel slightly uneasy, and I showed KK. The russian guy who 4bet me all in shows AA. No King falls and I immed bust in my first hand of live card room poker after walking three plus hours to get to the place. I go to the smoking area outside.

I have about $40 left, but I need some of that to get a cab, because there's no way I can make that walk again, my legs are stiff and feel dead. Then I start thinking that I spent all this time finally getting up here just to play one hand and bust and go home. I'm going to min buy for $40 and win or stay evenish for a couple of hours and then call a cab. Thanks went pretty well, dbld up w AK, triple up with KQ, but the rake and my small stack i kept ending up with 35ish. Eventually I shoved a turn with an up and down straight draw and a flush draw and was called. I didn't improve and the guy showed 7 high for a gutshot draw which didn't hit, but his 7 high was good. :/ I hung out for a little while watching the games, and then started walking towards the bust stop. Longest walk of my life, by the last 4 miles I was shuffling like a 90 year old woman and I thoguht my hamstrings were going to rip off.

The results and journey sucked but I loved the poker room. The play was hella weak, and a the atmosphere was way fun. I'd play there every weekend if I could, although it does suck to lose essentially a microstakes bankroll in one hand to a cooler. But again it was way fun and I was superstoked I checked it out. Thanks splithis, you made my month.

At first I thought you pulling a play out of jewdonks book.

And then I decided to read on before commenting and felt super depressed.

Do you mean Vegas trips? I've been on a lot obviously all the good shit is a blur and the rest is going to be field trips to buffets and playing poker.

One of the dumbest things I've ever done in Vegas was walking from Flamingo to MGM back to Flamingo for a shower and a change. Then immediately back on foot from Flamingo to Wynn and back to Flamingo.

    WITH DRESS SHOES

Also later that evening we went to Caesars for some reason and obv ended back at Flamingo to pass out.

I've never tried to figure out how much distance we covered on that day (were not accounting for walking around casinos etc) but I'm pretty sure I never walked that much in a single day. The rest of the trip I had to wear my flip flops because my feet were so ravaged! I had blisters for months and mind you we did this in like July. Sigh.

Only an absolute dumb fuck, cocksucker, delusional, asshole would refer themselves as a legend or legendary.

Way too many posters think they are a legend when in actuality they are just regular posters on an internet forum. Grow up fucktard.
