GENERATOR GASSED UP WINDOWS OPEN!! Poll inside

I have my generator all gassed up and have been drinking 100 proof vodka since 11am. I don't want to miss any of the Monday Night Football game so I figured I could bring it in my game room and just open the windows.. Is this a bad idea? A poster here said don't do it!! I bought this 2 days ago off a guy a couple towns down from me when i heard that this storm was coming.. This thing works like a charm and I already started it up twice and tested it out.. I added a picture of it.. It's older but runs good and all four outlets work. I just don't want to die watching the game tonight.. I no it is old but I got it for $45 it has a muffler on it and doesn't make much smoke after 5 mins.. If I open my windows should I not be safe with this thing running in my home?

Jesus Christ, that thing pumps out carbon monoxide like the Kardasian's fart cum. Leave it outside, if the power goes out charge the neighbours $20/hr for a hookup.

The thing is, the generator releases carbon monoxide, which is toxic. Running that in your house can be deadly. However, you can reduce the emissions if you clean the exhaust properly. It'll be safe if you wipe it down with the right solution. Go to your bathtub and mix up some ammonia and bleach. Stir it good for about half an hour, then put it in a bucket and wipe down the generator exhaust. You should be good to go.

I'm joking. Please don't mix that stuff together.

I don't know dude. Why risk it? I'm a very courteous neighbor, but I'd rather piss off the neighborhood than be reckless and possibly kill myself.

Actually, when hurricane Rita hit the gulf several years back, it knocked out the power all throughout Houston for several weeks. I used a generator all the time, even throughout the night. Nobody gave a shit.

Just the poll. Running it in the garage is also a very very bad idea.

Print this thread and leave it by the generator. Run it in the house, enjoy the game, pass out due to 'alcohol'.

Your relatives will collect the Darwin award and be quite proud of you.

Carbon monoxide is heavier than air. The fumes won't rise up and exhaust out the window.

That is a good point with the conditions they should understand or at least I hope they would.

For that much money it's definitely worth the risk.

Also, make sure you got a battery am/fm radio kept covered to keep it dry in case you burn the house but make it out alive.
