Got the message back that he could not initiate transfers at this time. Oh well, no big deal, whatever the reason.

I think this is their new way of fighting secret rakeback, as player-to-player transfers were the primary way this was accomplished.
I can't wait until online poker becomes legal in the US.
Earlier this week ACR and Lock put a limit on the amount you can transfer.
This will absolutely kill Mege.
P2P transfers are how a good chunk of their player base gets their money on the site.

Its the opposite actually. The good players have the money on Merge, and the fish like myself get the funds from them. If I want to put $500 on merge I can do a western union and pay like a $12 fee, or I can buy a gdmp and get like $575 from someone on 2+2. Sometimes even more I've worked out some unreal deals. I don't understand why Merge cares so much about secret rakeback. I get that it creates fiercer competition between the skins, but that's no skin off Merge's back. Why not let them compete? If customers move from one skin to another, it's all the same in the end.
However, they will lose business pissing everyone off with moves like this.

BCP rep (Nathan?) hasn't heard anything from Merge, regarding this being temporary.
