Emmitt Smith, an extraordinarily tough running back for Dallas, was enshrined at Canton in 2010. "Runnin' the football was awesome," he said, "in Tecmo.

All of these men are of the generation that grew up with Tecmo Super Bowl, one of the greatest sports video games of all time. "That was the first game I think most athletes played," Ward said, "was Tecmo Bowl."

ESPN and NFL Films this week broadcast an outstanding look at the subculture helping keep Tecmo Super Bowl alive in modern times.

Saw it a few days ago, this is a must watch.

You almost think it isn't real because of the level of nerdiness you witness, it is fucking hilarious. One of the main stars is a borderline autistic retard who is a modern day Super Tecmo Bowl superhero, like the Tiger Woods of the "sport".

Anyone over 30 will appreciate it, Tecmo Bowl was everything back in the day.

So many fucking great memories.

I've never played in a Tecmo tourney but I hear the "lunge"--the move where you choose the nose tackle and just lunge at the snap and stop almost every play before it begins--is banned in tournament play. Even without using the lunge I managed a 150-sack season for Chris Spielman of the Lions. I once won the Super Bowl 2-0 with the most horrendous team in the game, maybe the Chargers or Colts I forget who.

People complain about Madden in season mode where if you win about the first 8 games the computer suddenly decides you just aren't going to win the next one and you fumble 5 times and the computer offense becomes unstoppable and all your players get injured. That really started with Tecmo.

I thought it was funny how Bernie Kosar wouldn't allow Tecmo to use his name and he was called "QB Browns" because he was never that good. And now his daughter is in D-list porn.

Bernie Kosar arrested for DUI

CLEVELAND -- Former Cleveland Browns quarterback Bernie Kosar has been arrested on drunken driving charges in suburban Cleveland.

Police in Solon say Kosar was arrested early Sunday. A police statement says Kosar was pulled over for speeding at around 2:45 a.m. and officers smelled a strong odor of alcohol.

The police statement says Kosar took sobriety tests and was taken to jail. He was alone in the car.

Kosar didn't immediately return a phone call seeking comment.

The 49-year-old Kosar has publicly talked about how head injuries sustained during his NFL career have affected his speech, making him sometimes slur his words. He has also been addicted to pain medications, gone through a divorce and had financial troubles.

Another example of a professional athlete pissing away their career earnings from alcohol, drugs, and poor business ventures where he had to file for bankruptcy. I mean this is to be expected if he's black but dude is white.
