Drexel is good friends with Bobby Griffith who runs the poker room at the Palms for Cantor so maybe you can give him a call tonight for some insight.
Appears these are State Charges not Federal. He faces eight counts of conspiracy, money laundering and enterprise corruption. Gaming and legal sources confirmed the charges involve PinnacleSports.com, one of the largest off-shore sports wagering websites. Sources said agents for website were arrested in several cities Wednesday.
Fuck, which I would have know that pinnacle was using agents in the US. would have been nice to bet there the last few years.
Yes, Pinnacle has had reps in the US, and this has been going on for quite some time. I wasn't sure if this continued after Black Friday, but I know for sure that it was going on before that.
Does anyone remember MadCaddy?
The guy was a very good player, but horrible with money management, and a huge degenerate.
He was friends with neverwin, and also got into drugs, which also wasn't good for his already unstable life.
MadCaddy had as much as $8 million at one point, through sportsbetting and nosebleed games at Commerce. He chunked it all off, mostly through sportsbetting. He bet as much as $600,000 on individual games.
He told me a story at one point (when he was broke) that he had a line of credit through Pinnacle (this was after the UIGEA when they had left the US market), and that he blew through that, and couldn't pay them. He told me that he was concerned they were going to hurt him, as he was getting some threats regarding the money he owed.
He fell off the radar a few years ago, but I see that he did cash in a tournament at Commerce in 2011, so he didn't vanish from the scene completely.
Incidentally, the guy who granted MadCaddy the Pinnacle credit was also a fan of NWP, and he was the one responsible for getting me, Dustin, and Micon in WSOP prop bets offered for years on that site.
one of the guys arrested in the mike colbert/pinnacle case is name PAUL SEXTON.
anyone know if its the poker player from san diego/vegas or just someone of same name
(I kinda thought he was older, late 30's)
" jail records listed the others arrested as Las Vegas residents Kelly R. Barsel, 42, Jerald M. Branca, 67,
Steven S. Diano, 48, Brandt A. England, 49, and Joseph D. Paulk, 35; and Henderson resident Paul Sexton, 29 "

One of the people arrested was female, and is a sweet-looking family photographer.
Kelly Barsel, who is 42 but looks younger (probably thanks to touching up her own photo), was one of the people busted.

I guess taking pictures of kids isn't as lucrative as taking bets for Pinnacle.
Brandt England was also busted in 2008 for insider trading.

PRESIDENT JOSEPH R. BIDEN JR., THE GREAT AND POWERFUL
Another name that jumped out at me is Michael Duong, who was arrested in New Jersey.
I believe he is the husband of Kieu Duong, aka "eyegetpaid" from Pokerstars.
They both played poker.
Kieu Duong finished 3rd in the WSOP event I won in 2005. She came into the final table as chip leader (I was a distant 2nd), but she ran badly and wasn't really a factor for the bracelet. It also got in her head that I usually ran well against her on Pokerstars, which she openly complained about at the table (and which I used to my advantage by bluffing her more often). She remarked that her husband lost so much money on that trip that she would have to win the tournament ($347,385) for them to get even.
She vanished from tournament poker in 2008, despite making a few more decent scores along the way.
I actually heard rumors for years that she and her husband were involved in illegal bookmaking in New Jersey. I guess this confirms it.
Ok this story if the updates are true may need to be moved to scams and shadiness ASAP. The latest info indicates from a tweet sent out by David Purdum (retweeted by KevMath) "Vegas sportsbook manager was allegedly manipulating point spreads for VIP clients & his own wagers. " If this is true this really ups the seriousness of this, because its not just about Colbert's involvement as an agent for Pinnacle, he was outright screwing with the lines which will cause a major uproar among the majority of its clientele and could seriously harm Pinnacle's reputation IF its true. (the emphasis being on IF). I read the article Purdum sent out and didnt see anything mentioning the point spread manipulation though.
When faced with a difficult decision, ask yourself "What would Micon do?", then do the opposite.
