Best Restuarants you go to monthly (not high end, like Mortons)

there used to be a GREAT place up in the northern burbs called CRAWDADDY BAYOU which was OUTSTANDING! Its in a prime area for moderately priced restaurants too (Bob Chinn's Crabhouse is down the street, which at one point was the 4th largest grossing restaurant in the country).

no clue why it failed. Everything about it was perfect.


there are very few New Orleans themed places around. I would be having beignets, poorboys and muffalatas like crazy if there were. Heaven on Seven, downtown, is the most famous of any.

There is NOTHING wrong with Outback. First, I cleary said it was a generic mid level steak joint well below Mortons, Meat packing district in NYC and "some" Ruth's Chris.

Two tall beers and a nice prime rib / ribeye for $25 and that sucks at an Outback on a Tuesday night? It's not Mortons again I say. But it is sure is fucking better than wheeling out a beat up gas grill on a gravel back yard searing flank steaks in Arizona. That is a fucking fact.

I guess the Outback near where I live is just shitty then. Steak there is total crap. Ive heard other people say the same of their local Outback, but I guess it's possible you happen to have a good one? Anyways, for the price you want to pay, you can make something on your own little grill that is a hundred times better for under $25. Pictured here are a couple of Choice New Yorks about to hit the grill - on sale at Safeway for under $8 each. (Lol at flank steak.)

In the last year or 2, the outback nearest me (Norwood MA) has lost a lot of its luster. Shit's just not as good as it was, but obv could just be that particular location. Just doesn't look like the stuff is being made with much pride anymore.

The only places I go to regularly are things like pizza & sub shops, and the occasional diner for a late breakfast/brunch. And coffee places. The only chains I eat at ever are really 5 Guys and Chipotle, which are conveniently located right next to each other about a mile from me.

This thread was never about buying Safeway beef and cooking it on a cheap grill on a gravel yard in ballin Arizona. It was about going to mid level restuarants and discussing their merits. If I wanted to make a Safeway Beef thread, I would have done so.

I like the following in rotation:

Breakfast: IHOP. Eggs, Bacon, Hashbrowns, wheat toast. I always get a side of pancakes, but never eat them

Lunch: Applebees. I like Tomato Basil soup and they have a $5.99 deal with a salad (even though its a cheap lunch I always leave the waitress a $5 spot)

Dinner: Outback. I saw a post where Outback got ruined. It's not Ruth's Chris, and it never said it was. It's a mid level steak and seafood joint and is the best of class. I got a 10 ounce prime rib the other night with a salad and baked potato. It was like $16. After a couple glasses of wine my tab was in the low 30s. Naturally I left a $10 spot.

I like you as a poster so I'm not flaming, but Applebees is pure crap. You might as well just eat it on the toilet because that's where you're going to be ten minutes later.

I'll give you IHOP. I hardly ever go but I'm a fan of flavored syrup.

Outback. Just blah. If I'm going out for a steak dinner it will be Flemings or Ruth's Chris. That goes for other shit places like Carrabas too. And Red Lobster...unless you want to eat with the nigs.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Outback the same as Chili's the same as TGI Friday's the same as Sizzler etc, but with a "unique twist" that makes it a touch different?
