Marty has been post-restricted

I have said time and time again that I don't want a certain person dominating the forum, and Marty has done just that.

I tried to give it some time to work itself out, but it has just gotten worse.

I am not going to get into a discussion of WHY this was happening, only that it needs to stop. If Marty tries to go about his business here normally, and people still troll him, I will take action against those people, as well.

I am also banning the "Uncle Allen" dupe, which was created just to troll him.

Marty now has 5 posts per day. I will remove this restriction when things return to normal -- if they ever do.

It will be telling how Marty reacts to this edict. I hope he chooses to post 5x/day and SIMPLY IGNORES all the ridiculous trolls, and eventually "earn back" the privilege of posting more frequently. A sensible and positive approach. Somehow I fear that he will turn this into a huge negative tho. Hope not, as his 'on topic' posts have been interesting.

I won't deny that there are trolls that bother Marty and try to tilt him into responding.

However, he also attacks plenty of people on his own, and in general he's just posting too much. This forum has mainly been "The Marty Show" for the past week, and you can't put most of the blame for that on his trolls.

With that said, as I mentioned in the first post, if he uses his 5 posts wisely and doesn't appear to be starting trouble, I will put a stop to any trolling in his direction. I'm not expecting him to just sit there and take shit while others have license to harass him.

As someone who's said he should be banned - I've never intended to troll him, his posts are just pure vitriol a large portion of the time and are either intended to be enraging or his idiocy just inspires a sounding off. The idea that his trolls are what cause him to be the way he is is laughable, really, who came first? I think those out to "Troll" Marty are far less in numbers than he and his few defenders would like to estimate, and it's really just people that can't stand him, making notice of it from time to time.

Don't you think a better "strategy" would be to comply with the 5 posts rule for, say, a week, and then -- once he has demonstrated what type of positive insightful contributions he is bringing to the community -- asking for his limit to be raised... or lifted altogether?

If you dont poke Marty with a stick, he has a tendency to post rational comments. Its when he is provoked, that he lashes out OR, he comments about how youre a troll, but people are trolling him due to all of his OLD comments he once made toward them.

Its a vicious cycle.
