NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- Weekly news magazine Newsweek announced Thursday it will shift to online-only publication next year, discontinuing its print version after 80 years.

It's funny. Back in the mid '80s, I actually respected both Time and Newsweek. I was young and naive, and figured that the magazines' prominence and high circulation meant respectability.Originally Posted by Walter Sobchak
Then I did a report on both of them in 8th grade, and realized they were trash.
It was the first of many discoveries that the media wasn't what it seemed to be.
