especially poignant considering how much real estate in LA is owned by israelis.

Electricity is something we take for granted. Its devastating when we have no juice. Hope Druff is back up soon.

State Farm was the sharp money in their LA handicap.

Gonna mismanage water and cut fire dept spending? Ok

They elected to say “no bets” out last summer

Gotta look into the mercenary (private) LA firefighters signed with HOA and insurance co.s. Looks interesting.

No words for video of LA mayor arriving back in town. She had no words either.

Truth is they aren't that bad...unless you live near the water. Storm surge is extremely dangerous. I'm several miles from the bay and we had legit 120 mph winds and many on my street lost their pool cages but people think a hurricane is a F5 tornado and it just isn't the case. Hope you're okay Druff. I didn't lose my pool cage btw. Was one of the only houses on my street where the cage is still standing. Luck I guess. Plus I cut all my screens so the wind would blow through it instead of lifting it. My roof has seen better days though.
It’s not the wind obviously - it’s the flooding. The rebuilding on the Gulf will literally never end. Nobody rebuilds after flooding more than twice. They leave

    Then there is the insurance.

How many times has the Mucky Duck been rebuilt?

But it’s not California so yeah, hurricanes win.
Permitting has stalled where I am. I have a bunch of customers who are trying to renovate their houses keeping under the 50% FEMA rule which is tough since a lot of these houses were built in the 60's so the lot value is a million but the structure is only $200k or so and to fully renovate a house for $100k considering these homes were basically ripped down to the studs it's almost impossible. So the state is pushing for tear downs and complete rebuilds at 12 feet or whatever the new standards are. I can tell you after this the islands near where I live will look completely different in a few years. They are tearing down houses galore right now.

Not every homeowner has fire insurance, which can be very expensive.

    Solution: Move out of California.

Feeling like my power is never coming BACK.

Cold in the house. Got a fireplace on and an extension cord from my car so it can charge my one power block so I can have cell and internet service.

    What a way to live.

And I've still got congestion from that flu which never completely went away, though thankfully the worst 3 days of it were before the outage.

    He lives in California.

Small gas engines like lawn mowers, leaf blowers and other masculine items are banned or in Newsom’s crosshairs.

Generators are prolly like a controlled substance in Cali. While the deadline for the generator ban may not have kicked in Home Depot may have given up already. I would

His neighbors would probably shun him if Desertrunner smuggled one in anyway.

Gay but you knew that already

Not easy to keep a refrigerator on. Sucks a ton of power.

    Internet is low wattage.

I do have most of the perishable stuff in coolers.

Create a lifelong memory for a disadvantaged Los Angeles teenage male.

Let Ben pull start the gas motor. He’s gonna need to learn anyway considering Druff’s health.

He will seem a god to the other LA kids at lunch when he tells the story.
