Right now I’m in north LA County and our power is out. Luckily, I’m a prepper. Got my flashlights, guns and PFA- I’m ready for action.
On a serious note, when the power unexpectedly goes out at night (SCE shut it down), it’s nice to have flashlights and a LED lantern.
Hopefully desertrunners dreams about druff stack can continue unabated, or maybe it will shift to druff being a firefighter, free of influenza and contributing something to society.

So we have a situation where climate change is real but all the solutions from the left are retarded or kickbacks to their donors..
I can tell you Druff will always get big stacks of chips, but that was a one time thing for me, I’m not a poker baller like you guys.
As for Druff being a firefighter, probably never happen. But he does contribute to society, he gave away some money to charity in the past, correct? He posted on PFA asking where should some money go? I think Druff has a good heart and cares about people.

After the whole thing dies down, I will drive down there and do some disaster tourism. I did the same after both the 2017 Ventura fires and the 2018 Woolsey/Hill fires. If you guys would like, I'll post pictures.
Extremely windy here but we have been fortunate:
1) No loss of power, whereas much of SoCal lost power, including close to us
2) No smoke overhead, due to wind direction
3) No real fire danger. The three fires (Altadena/Eaton, Palisades, Husrt/Sylmar) are not close to me.
It was looking almost 100% certain we were losing power, and I even prepared for it yesterday, despite still being somewhat sick. Turned out that preparation was likely for naught. Winds are supposed to die down at around 3pm today.
Two years ago, my cabin in Kern County almost burned down, so I have a great respect for firefighters. I don’t give a fuck about who they fuck. This wasn’t mismanagement by the LAFD. SoCal had two years of unprecedented rain, and then none since April. Lots of fuel and massive winds. The worst possible conditions. Praying for my LA brothers and sisters.
The firefighters themselves are usually very competent.
People do have a right to question why the LAFD chief seems obsessed with DEI, rather than putting all her energy into directing the fighting of fires. Her being a lesbian doesn't matter, unless she was a DEI hire herself, and there's a good chance that's the case here.
With that said, I agree that the fire department is not the issue here. It's mismanagement of brush around California. In the 2010s we were getting nonsense excuses blaming "climate change", stating that a lot of consecutive below-average rain years caused it.
Now that we are just off two heavy rain seasons, followed by 8+ months of very little rain, the excuse is, "Well, of course everything is dry, we aren't getting rain for all these months!"
News flash: The LA area usually gets very little rain for the 6-month period between April and October. That's normal. If the city is going to burn every time we have a dry stretch longer than 6 months, we have a big problem.
The key here is brush management. California does a poor job of this, and every so often we pay the price.
Don't get me started regarding the fire insurance laws, which have essentially forced most insurance companies out of the market in fire-prone areas of the state.
