And with how terrible things have gotten in the country, people that supported Trump are feeling really justified for doing so despite being told how wrong they were for years. He just thought nobody would have access to his travel records, and could make up this story without getting caught. It turns out he didn't show up there until over 2 months later, in August 1989. The protests ended on June 4, 1989. I even remember this, because I was following it during the end of my junior year in high school, and I recalled them ending (with the unfortunate massacre) just before I finished that school year.

People should be voting based upon what they know on election day -- not 1-2 months beforehand.
They really need to put a stop to early voting and mail-in voting (aside from the old absentee system, which required a specific request in advance to do).
They especially need to outlaw shady shit like ballot harvesting.
It's also funny how so many super important services require people to show ID, yet voting doesn't. The average person's life is the same if they don't vote, yet you almost can't function in the rest of life with no ID. In our backwards system, you can vote with no ID, yet you need ID for almost everything else.
