saddened to report we took a tremendous hit from this storm. it cracked a couple hundred of my 18 year old pines and lifted and tilted the roots of dozens of oaks, including those around my pond. Even lost 2.5 of our live oaks which date bn 100-300 years old. will be weeks before power is restored in this area. so much damage. most of the country people will have little to no insurance for help. certainly none for our damage. wind gusts reached 110 mph. have to admit it was terrifying. kept waiting on the roof to be lifted off. anyway, we survived but what awful damage to work my way through. we had just spent 25k cleaning it up from the last storm and making improvements. it's all been wasted now. disheartening to say the least.
we can at least take solace that our tax dollars are funding Ukrainian pensions and the Israeli war machine. The poor in rural GA will have to make due.

no fema. idk re red cross. most folks have suffered tremendous property damage. power will be off for weeks at a minimum. schools still closed. they gave food to local fast food places which are cooking and giving away. gas in short supply locally and getting more scarce in surrounding area. just another big mess.
