This week I went to Vegas with a friend, our goal was to try atleast one Las Vegas buffet on her list. So she book us a room at Palace Station (PS) and I was like- Lame, last time I stayed there was with a girlfriend in 1991 or 92. But I went along anyways.
Some history, I remember seeing the semi-new Palace Station in 1991 and how the other sister properties took off. My usual Vegas stay hotel in the past has always been Santa Fe Station. I remember seeing Boulder Station, Texas Station (RIP) and Fiesta Station (RIP) also being built.
We were placed on the 19th floor and the room was nice and modern, but no refrigerator. I cant tell when they were re-modeled last, but its that typical post-modern kinda look, but not as extreme. We had a good view we well over the I-15 and beyond.
We did not dine at PS, bu their in-house Mexican Restaurant looked to be Tier 1 or 2.
We asked the desk person about the OJ room and she confirmed its been long torn down and changed out. (Why not just keep it?)
And the most important the only reason I am doing this review- The connected parking garage is easy to get into, park and the travel path from the garage to the front desk and room elevators is a short and direct walk. I was so impressed every time about the "old school Vegas" design, I told myself- I have to tell Druff and review this hotel. This old school direct design was so refreshing, I will make PS one of my regular go-to Vegas Hotels now, Druff might too.
Overall Experience- A grade.
Hope you enjoyed this review.
Not my pic, but this was what the room looked like...
