I was flat broke in 2007, made terrible investments, add in a lot of poker and drinking it was a tough time, getting laid off in a recession did not help. On obviously a much much smaller scale than Trump, I did what he did. I got back on my feet and all of a sudden companies were paying to come out to their firm weeks at a time, staying in the nicest hotels in the country. I literally spent 75 days at the Marriott in the financial district in Manhattan, a two room suite, totally paid for by the company who contracted me. In the span of three years I went from a negative net worth to $500,000. Yeah chump change for most at then the age of 35, but the point it I grinded my way back. If you ask why guys like me favor Trump that is the reason, he made his way back from a financial abyss, and I admire that because I did the same. As far as Harris, I don't criticize her career but make no mistake without her multi year affair at age 29 with a married 60 year old Willie Brown, she would just be another obscure California attorney.
