I called this, front and center. Make no mistake about this, I am the greatest poster on the forums, dating back to 2007. There has never been anyone like me.

Sorry but I agree with him about the sparkling water.

I had the same reaction when I tried it. Felt like I just used a soda machine with no syrup.

Except I didn't ask for ketchup and a bib. Only ketchup.

    Wasn't the best pick though.

    For various reasons:

    1) Trump was going to 100% win Ohio anyway.

    2) Vance once hated Trump and is on record talking all kinds of shit about him. These are already appearing in social media ads against Trump.

    3) Vance does not earn Trump any votes he wasn't already getting. Rural white males, who are Vance's demographic, already are very big on Trump, and those who aren't have already made up their minds.

    4) He is anti-abortion, and that continues to hurt Trump where he struggles most -- suburban white women.

He should have gone either with Tim Scott (which would earn him more black votes -- a demographic where he's already doing better than any Republican in modern history) or one of the various females he was considering.

It's possible that he saw the assassination attempt (plus Biden's horrible debate) as locking up his lead enough to where he wanted to pick someone he liked, rather than someone practical.

Obama chose someone practical whom he didn't otherwise like, and now 16 years later, that same old fool is causing major issues for the Democratic Party. Obama chose him right before the 2008 financial crash, which essentially locked up his victory. Had the crash occurred first, he probably would have not chosen Biden, and would have gone with someone he personally liked and respected. The Biden choice was simply to lock up Pennsylvania, where Biden was very popular, and which Obama was worried he might lose.

Trump did say that the assassination attempt made up his mind regarding his VP pick. I think what he really meant was, "Fuck this.. I'm going to win now, so I'm picking one of my buddies, not some asshole who will get me extra votes."

LOL, what a terrible post. He picked Vance to grind out the MAGA vote in PA, MI and WI. Only a fools errand tries to pick up out the minority vote, what you think picking some black guy is going to make a difference? Really? What planet are you on? Stick to poker.

you can't be this dim-whited. you just can't believe this. i really thought more of your critical thinking ability. you sound like dems do election after election, telling republicans what they need to do to win. actually, that is rhino think. damn, druff.

    How is it RINO think?

I want Trump to win. While he is the clear favorite at this point, he's not a lock.

Recall that the polls were indicating a red wave in 2022, but it didn't happen. Dems outperformed the '22 polls big time. That scares me a bit for '24.

Vance will not earn Trump many votes. Those who like Vance already like Trump. Trump does not suffer from a lack of enthusiasm issue. Those who like him WILL tend to show up to vote for him. The ideal VP candidate would move the needle for certain undecided voters, preferably in swing states. Ohio is not a swing state anymore.

oh, no, i am not applauding the pick of JDV, but rather your belief that Tim Scott would garner him ANY additional support whatsoever with the blacks.

There will be an October surprise and Trump will lose. End of the genocide is my guess.

This was certainly a “I picked a guy to help sure up the base last time and I’m going to pick the guy who my sons & I like the most at this moment this time around”. I think Youngkin would have been a waste anyways, as I’m sure the calculation was if he somehow flipped Virginia that could negate states like Arizona/Nevada which have been trending more blue. But those northern DC suburbs in Virginia (Fairfax County) just continue to grow. I don’t think he could flip Virginia anyways.

I think Rubio would have been the best pick mostly for name recognition and setting the party up in 2028. A lame duck presidency, the VP slot, would certainly have the inside track to the nomination in 2028. Rubio seemed politically dead 8 years ago but then decided to run for Senate again and I do believe for the Republican Party would have been the best choice.

But Trump should win here. Right move to stop beating on Old Man River and take a more positive tone. Although to attack is his nature. When he’s searching for words and can’t find them he will just talk about what a disgrace, worst President ever, etc Biden is. Will be interesting if he he can stay on script Thursday.

In all honesty right now it’s just about not screwing up this momentum for Trump. Who would have thought months ago that the selfish old man desperately clinging to power and willing to sacrifice his party for his own vanity …..would be Joe Biden?
