Also those cards look terrible.

Another hand one bust out today….awful shove.
According to Gutierrez (pictured), he and Tony Guglietti had both put 1,200 in preflop, with the blinds at 100/200.
Guglietti bet the 7

flop and Gutierrez called. The turn was the 10

and Guglietti checked. Gutierrez bet 3,000, and Guglietti called.
The river was an 8

, and Guglietti shoved. The exact shove was unknown, but according to the previous action, it must have been more than 55,000.
Gutierrez called with A

K

for the nut flush and took down the pot, as Guglietti showed 9

for a rivered straight and was eliminated.
Not that tough of a laydown on day 1.
Unless you're up against a complete spewtard, it's pretty much universal now that people (even a lot of fish) don't risk a lot of chips on Day 1 without the nuts. The event is just too slow and too deep to do so.
T748 is a shit board for a set. Nobody is putting in a ton of action on Day 1 of the Main, even with TT. It would be more understandable if the only straight is something like 35, and you don't put the guy on it because he raised pre from early/middle. Here J9 is the nuts, and lots of people are opening with J9s (or even offsuit). Plus you're also behind 69, which is also possible if someone threw in a loose raise with 69s.
A big part of Main Day 1 is pot control, and knowing your opponents.
Day 2 is similar, but to a lesser extreme (and not at all if short stacked, obviously).
Day 3 starts looking more like a normal NL event, except you're less rushed to make a move due to the slow structure. But it's not nearly as deep anymore.
The advice I give to first-time players of the WSOP Main: "Forget everything you know about how you play other NL tournaments."
Feature table on Pokergo has Blez for both sessions. It’s all Blez, all the time. It’s Bleztastic.
Most annoying douchbag ever. grandstand shilling his sportscards, full of himself table lecturing, blowing his enormous snozzle every hand, then using his hoodie as a snot rag.
My guess is he would call the tournament director if anyone else was germ spreading the way he is.
Speaking of entertaining/annoying guys, Micon shows up in the latest Jeff Boski vlog (9:54 in). Boski is doing a comedic bit at the WSOP, asking various people for a loan. Guess how it turns out with "rich" Bryan Micon?...
Saw some clog where Moneymakers wsop banner was missing…the banners jumped from Varkonyi to Raymer….weird.

J5 off lol he read this guy as weak all the way early, in Main Event too
Lame feature tables right now: Joe Cada and Kristen Foxen. Two non-personalities.
Still can;t believe they lock this behind a paywall and production is still worse than 20 years ago...
PokerfraudAlert acknowledges that our message board is on the unceded, unsurrendered Territory of Donkdown.com who's presence stretches back to that of Neverwinpoker and the Lithuanians. Negreanu won about $1.2M with his bracelet and assuming no main event cash he is only up $22k over his buyins….which means his ROI is maybe 1%.
Of course he’s sponsored so he can fire away.
