Comparison Texas Rangers and a Poker Player going on full blown tilt.

After tonights 5-1 soul crushing finale to the Rangers season Ive come to the conclusion that Texas went on a baseball equivalent to full on Monkey Tilt the past 10 days. A 5 game lead with 9 days left and the last 3 games are against the team chasing you for the division and you get swept and then go home to face a team that had a similar record to you and honestly didnt close out well losing 2 out of 3 in their own final series and then get pwned at home, after winning back to back League Titles, and were the consensus favorite to likely repeat again. Then go out with a whimper it just seems to me Texas just went on Tilt. Boston last year was a slow car crash to missing the playoffs but to me Texas's crushing implosion in such a short and dramatic fashion was worse by far.... Like a poker player getting sucked out on once or twice and doubling up the other guy and tilting off their chips afterwards. (Much like Hellmuth did in the WSOP last year when he had such a massive chip lead in the 50k Horse)

The Braves are perpetual losers when it comes to the playoffs, but man o' man that infield fly call was among the worst calls I have ever seen. It's bad enough to have to play a one game playoff game, which I am not a fan of considering even the worst team in the league can win one game against anyone, but to have a botched call like that would be practically unbearable for any serious fan.

Well, that and Dan Ugg-la throwing the ball.

Never thought about that... Is this the first playoff series ever in Camden Yards?

Great stadium BTW. I made it on the jumbo tron there a while back. It was pretty sweet.

    Yup, sick brag.

Agreed with vegas, that's tough but it doesn't mean it literally cost them the game. When the tension is so high with these 1 offs it makes for great TV but for a fan just completely unbearable.

Saw something on SC after the orioles game where chipper brought up this same scenario over a month ago. A blown call and a bad day at the office shouldn't be the reasons why another team gets to move along in the post season. It would make a lot more sense for it to be a 3 game series.

It's obviously because Jesus is angry at Josh Hamilton's inability to be obedient and quit chewing tobacco.

LOL at whatever team shells out dollars on this unstable, religious whacko.

So happy for Orioles fans, to make the playoffs and NOT get to host a game would have been cruel. Seriously thinking of flying back to Baltimore if A's and the O's get through, one of my good friends lives about a block from Camden, and it would be so fun to be there during the playoffs. Will be pulling for the Orioles to beat the Yankees, especially since they usually shit the bed when they play on the west coast, lol.

Baseball has the worst proportion between regular season games vs the amount of playoff games you need to win in a series. Basically why it's such a crapshoot come playoff time. Really, all the series should be like best of 15.

    1996. Jeffrey Maier, series STOLE.

    1997 as well.

I had World Series tickets but we never made it there.

Time for some fucking payback for those filthy fucking NY'ers.

Definitely all for the Orioles, might even try to make my way up to Camden Yards if they advance.

I always try hit up a playoff game if a team around me is playing. Have plans to go to DC for one of the Nationals games next week. Last time it was in Atlanta for Bobby Cox's last game and the Giants went on to win it all.

Hopefully this series helps A's fans forget the horrors of 2006 ALCS. No Placido Polanco, Magglio or Denangelo Jimenez to fuck it up. No Cory Lidle airplane crash the morning of game 1 to spook Zito, none of that.

Any Tigers fan want to put a little wager on this and make it interesting?
