He was a hell of an actor. Most famous for Officer and a Gentleman (He won an Oscar for his efforts as Best Supporting Actor), Iron Eagle movie series and a few other things. Saw him recently in some half baked movie called Solar Attack where he played POTUS (movie was about massive solar flares from the Sun were breaking through Ozone holes and lighting methane on fire in the upper atmosphere your basic apocalypse/end of the world sci fi made for tv type movie. Hint the ending is ridiculous where they get Russians to launch 5 nukes at the north pole to vaporize massive amounts of water into the upper atmosphere to put out the fires before it consumes all the Oxygen and kills off all life). Anyway dude was 87 and died last night. RIP Chappy.
