Sounds great, look forward to all the developments that are to come.

Think we'd all love to hear Druff's thoughts on this 'unconventional airline'.

Southwest is a good choice if you're playing in the WSOP because of their no-fee change policy. Say you enter a 5 day event and book a flight arriving the day before and leaving the day after. Then you bust out on Day 1 and want to go home. You can easily change your flight. You can book several flights that way for different events right now and not have to worry about it. I believe you can cancel for free also.
Thanks, DR, for this timely topic!

The best way to look at modern US airlines is this:

Discount airlines like Spirit and Frontier are aimed at customers ranging from lower class to lower-middle class. It's not just no-frills. It's no service. They view you as scum who has no choice but to fly with them, and you're treated as such. If anything goes wrong (and I'm not talking about the plane safety), you're fucked.

Southwest is one step above that. Their expected clientele is lower-middle to middle class. They are what I call "fake customer friendly". They have generous standard policies and tend to operate efficiently, but they are extremely rigid in their rules, and they will also tend to fuck you if something out of the ordinary occurs. Not nearly as bad as Spirit, but keep in mind they also look down on the customer.

The mainline airlines such as Delta, American, United, and others are aimed at middle-class and above. They can also be difficult and bureaucratic, but there is a higher level of customer service and respect typically shown to the passengers. If you try hard enough, you can usually get issues resolved.

I will never fly on Southwest, nor will I fly on a discount airline.
