    *** OFFICIAL *** Super Bowl 2024 Thread

I am in Vegas but will NOT be attending the Super Bowl.

Actually considered it, but once the Niners/Chiefs were the teams, I knew the prices would be ridiculous.

Indeed, they have actually gone UP as the event has drawn closer. Right now the cheapest ticket is $8600.

I haven't seen any for under $6500 at any point.

Bay Area money is to blame, but the recent attention on the Chiefs due to Taylor Swift is also possibly a factor, as ridiculous as that sounds.

I am leaning Chiefs on this. Niners have shown some inconsistency but have gotten away with it thus far. Honestly they should have lost that game to the Lions.

Stop and think about this for a second. The state of Missouri has two MLB teams, one NHL teams, one NFL team (two until recently), but no NBA teams Weird, huh?

The league definitely has a financial incentive for the Chiefs to win, but will this matter in this highest profile sporting event of the year?

If you have any props or other picks you like, post them here.

I’m not exactly sure where I first heard the explanation that most of the seats were parsed out to the various sponsors, teams and other involved entities and that the reselling of these tickets is highly discouraged. If not forbidden. I think I heard this from David Samson of all people.

The supply is minuscule and it’s a nice matchup.

Yes, that's another factor. There was a strict instruction that the tickets could not be resold, with the threat of both invalidation and the removal of the free tickets in future years for anyone who violated it.

This depressed secondary market supply, and then the 49ers/Chiefs matchup sealed the deal that it would be outrageously expensive.

I come out here most years for a Superbowl Party (not a casino sponsored one), so here I am again.

Might be tempted to play some poker because the games might be good with all that Bay Area $$ in town.

I’ve been amassing some totals over in the 38.5 to 40.5 range.

I would keep an alt total queued up and if I saw a live play I believed in with some normally prohibitive juice I’d parlay the two for even money

I’ve got more than I intended as I lost track. Lotta little plays added up.

If one of those 2 49’ers running backs gets hurt I could get screwed. I shoulda had an alt under approach but I’ll do some prop unders soon.

The trick, or so im told, is to show up (maybe go park it at the Luxor) and wait for 15 or so min before kickoff. Its right around this point where tickets crash if theybare still holding onto any. Once the national anthem
Starts they will take almost any reasonable offer near face value

But its all on demand. If tickets are bought up ahead of time you risk being shut out and now you at the Luxor

My record is pretty abysmal; for the past 17 years I am 1/17 on picking Super Bowl winners. It started when I picked Chicago to win in 2007, Devin Hester started the game with a kick return for a touchdown and I thought all right easy win. Nope. The one win I did get was the Eagles when they beat the Pats. Every other pick was wrong, and you could have made a lot of money fading my Super Bowl picks throughout the years.

Anyways I pick the Niners to win it all

I suffered my last boomer cable shaming and cancelled today. I feel younger already.

The Verizon rep reminded me about the Super Bowl. After some laughs he came close to tipping his cap. I expected a hustle and wheeling and dealing but instead he pleasantly folded his cable cards and virtually said, “nice hand”

How long before the Super Bowl goes behind a pay wall? 3 years too generous?

I think Boomers had it easier. Pay for just cable.

Now we pay for Netflix, share Disney +, pay for a music subscription, iCloud storage and who knows what else.

Oh yes, and don't forget IPTV to replace cable. It runs about $15 a month and has 8 zillion channels and you deal with the odd buffering. Best part is I can only assume some Russian-based gang is in charge of it. That or Sonatine.

I have no real feeling on this game, so just betting on the QB.

Chiefs ML and of course random throwaway props. Ayiuk anytime TD stood out as a good price on DK

The Detroit Lions beat the chiefs in the very first game of the season and were up seventeen points against the niners until the second half when they completely shit the bed and lost the game.

Due to my complete and rational bias I hope both of the superbowl teams have the most abysmal game ever. I would love to see brock purdy’s eyelashes get shaved, patrick mahomes run into one of his own teammates and to have Taylor Swift rush the half time performance stage and claim herself to be the greatest artist of all time.

    Final Score: 6 to 3

Shoutout to Marty's iconic 'Super Bowl Sunday' dual monitor video, someone set it to the 'Requiem for a Dream' music and I think of it every year.

That was a gimme interception and Gibson literally just quit abruptly on the play. Turned out they didn't need it, but yeah.

Raging cokehead vibes the last few weeks. He deserves to be benched. Some go this dark way, others go shirtless, euphoric mania mode, and jumping off of things like the guy who was around that crowd for the first time this year in Buffalo. We made that analysis here jokingly, but damn.

If you are thinking about an internet poster on an anniversary date for whatever reason you really need to get a life. You are the guy whose wife abandoned sex, correct? See why. That video was like 12 years ago and you still think about it? Really?

Hope your kids are being taken care of tonight as you make memories alone, again.
