Big wedding ceremonies are a tradition for young people just starting off, hence the whole thing about the bride being "given away" by her dad, and the bride's parents paying for it. As far as the standing and the gout, last 3.5 months have been tough on me. Sucks not to be able to be active without pain. Despite that I forced myself to do hiking at Red Rock a few days ago, when visiting Vegas with the family. Also I probably don't have gout after all, as gout doesn't last this long. Just some kind of inflammation which has shown up in older age, which I may or may not be able to control. Still working on figuring out what to do about it. The fact is that there's all kinds of shit that can go wrong with your body after age 50.

If any of it is true, you probably sprained or twisted something, and then it healed. Sometimes sprains can abruptly get better. I sprained my ankle in 2015 while hiking. 9 months passed and zero improvement. All doctors were baffled, though the MRI showed that there was some problem in there. I was prepared to be stuck with the issue for life, and then one day I woke up and it was gone. 9 months of pain literally disappeared overnight.

I agree my feet were not broken
I was being DRAMATIC to express that it was badly hurt
Every step was a reminder that I should not engage in degenerate and violent activity

Just to clarify, we could get married today if we chose to do so. There are no legal hurdles preventing this.
