Several years ago, a guy named Larry showed up (not the same guy as Larry Laffer, formerly of PFA). Larry had been banned from Wizard of Vegas, which is another advantage player forum where a lot of Vegascasinotalk people also have accounts.
Some psycho appeared and demanded I ban Larry. He had all kinds of gripes with Larry, and stated that he must also be banned on Vegascasinotalk because he was banned on Wizard of Vegas.
I countered that I give everyone a fresh start and do not worry about their issues on other forums. Also, Larry hadn't done anything particularly bad, was just banned over usual forum bullshit.
This didn't convince the guy. He gave me a deadline of a few days to remove Larry, or he would destroy my site.
I told him that I do not let anyone threaten or blackmail me into banning people, and banned this guy instead.
Of course, then he went to work trying to "destroy" my site. He made various DDoS attempts, all of which failed because of the defense software I wrote and had running. Then he started creating tons of accounts and started spamming the Vegascasinotalk forum.
I mass deleted the spam, and modified the software to detect his posting patterns, and auto-ban him when he attempted to spam. Of course, then he made new accounts and kept spamming on those until they'd get auto banned after a few posts. This was much less effective to disrupt the forum, but I still had to handle it.
I then wrote in a new modification to detect his new registrations, and disallow them before he could get it through. He tried proxies, VPNs, and everything else he could come up with, and every time it detected him and wouldn't let the registration complete.
Finally, after about 1000 attemtps which took probably 10 hours, he finally got 2 through. I then modified the software again to close that last hole, and he could not register another account. He tried and tried for many hours each day, and never got another through. At the same time, everyone else's registrations went through without a problem.
He finally gave up.
Everyone on Vegascasinotalk saw this play out publicly, and can confirm. A few post here.
Explain how I did all of that with "basic HTML skills", Marty.
You are a fool.
