I was in Portland with my family before the Pandemic. Before. It was the most dangerous environment we had ever been. Rampant drug use, I mean needles everywhere and people aggressively coming up to us looking for money. It was terrifying for my family. Portland is the armpit of America, its not even close. Funny thing was it used to be a pretty decent city with landmark food trucks, but those days are forever over. Just another liberal shit hole with homeless people literally shitting on the street.
It's always funny when lifelong libs finally have that moment when they realize they've been supporting a nonsense ideology. Usually it occurs when it affects them personally, such as Sloppy realizing he lives in a rapidly degrading shithole, and it's all thanks to leftists like he used to be.
One guy on my Facebook, a guy I went to school with, has been a lifelong liberal. He lives in LA. During the 2020 BLM riots, he was trying to get home, and all of a sudden traffic stopped, as a BLM "protest" was intentionally blocking the road. Then the rioters surrounded his car and started banging on it and yelling at him. He was recording it on his cell phone in case something happened, and kept trying to reason with the rioters.
"Come on, I didn't do anything to you, please don't do this to me!", he pleaded.
"Come on, this isn't fair. I actually agree with you guys!", he yelled.
Didn't matter, they were still pounding on his car, and he was legit worried they would break the window, drag him out, and beat him to death.
They ended up damaging his car but did not doing anything beyond that. He got back to his apartment and posted the video, expressing intense frustration about the whole thing. At the end, he wrote, "I've been a liberal my whole life, but this whole thing seriously makes me question my politics. This wasn't right."
