Best know as one of the main actors on Homicide: Life on the Street , earning him an Emmy in 1998, as well as his most recent stint for several seasons as Capt Raymond Holt the homosexual Capt of Brooklyn Precinct 99 which also starred Andy Samberg. He was 61 yrs old and information is sparse on the COD other then a brief illness. (On the Emmy side while he only had 2 wins, the other for the miniseries Thief he was nominated 11 times total in his career). He had one unfortunate bomb TV show Last Resort where he played the Capt of a SSBN ordered to Nuke Pakistan through a backdoor comm channel not normally utilized and he refused the order which lead to being fired on by another USN submarine and some weird coup crap backstory in DC and even a threat to nuke DC by Braughers character (he let the nuke overfly DC and detonated it approximately 200mi off shore in the show)
