If he beat you up as a 16 year old, you could’ve had a big fat settlement in court. Might have been worth it.

But the guy had a temper and was an asshole.

One of his most embarrassing moments was in 2009. He hadn’t seen his daughter Tatum in so long that he didn’t recognize her, and then tried to hit on her at Farrah Fawcett’s funeral, until Tatum told him who she was.

His personal life was littered with all kinds of scandals and incidents.

I liked this movie where he was a secondary star. It was from 1989, looked like it would be stupid, but was actually pretty good. Always felt it was underrated. Ironically the plot had an element where a guy (not O’Neal) died, was born into another body, and then 25 years later started dating his own daughter but didn’t realize it.

Good movie and I agree it’s underrated. Also had Christopher McDonald in one of his earlier roles before Shooter McGavin.

Guy was a pretty decent actor in my opinion. A little known film he was in was Carbon Copy, it was funny. For whatever reason we had a VHS tape of it growing up and watched it quite a bit.

Might be the shittiest father in Hollywood history, and that’s quite the achievement. Just a horrible guy from everything I’ve ever read about him. Banged a lot of the most beautiful women in the world, but should have never had kids.

Ryan O’Neal was a zero in my book. I remember a published pic of his son missing a front tooth because O’Neal knocked it out. He also stole Farrah From husband Lee Majors. No love lost for this guy.

Little known fact: Ryan O'Neal and Wally George were related by marriage.

Rebecca De Mornay was married to Ryan's son Patrick, and had 2 kids with him. Rebecca's kids can call both Ryan and Wally their grandfathers.
