Oh shit, Dbacks, out of nowhere, ink Montgomery.

"Ippei" might have a future on them winning division now.

Red Sox immediately signed him to major league deal.
This wouldn't be a bad team if they could get their pitching in order. But yeah, it's pretty damn bad.

Reminds me somewhat of the Angels, who wasted all those Trout/Ohtani years largely because their pitching was shit.
There is zero.zero chance the sawks finish with more than 80 wins

Is the ball juiced this year? There were some ri-donk-ulous HR’s in spring training. Who knows year to year what they roll out.

Dry Arizona is the lab for the juiced ball experiment. I did a Christian Walker HR in Arizona @ +420. FD nearly always best price btw.

I did a ton of little bets. Making a decision makes me get involved and pay attention. Normally, I degen spring training - making a choice, being involved then learning why I won or lost is educational and personal (i will remember). I did not do spring training this year. So a little money and a lot if bets is tuition (or a late fee).

My LA centric wager was Glasnow under 7.5 strike outs but that has sailed (-160 last i looked). 6.5 is prolly priced right but lean under especially if plus money. The Dodgers rotation is a shambles and they need to be judicious with delicate injury prone Glasnow and get as many starts as they can out of him. The Dodger middle bullpen is pretty good so get them in after 80 pitches with a lead.

Betting the April Most Wins prop got me studying. The more I examine Orioles with Craig “Man Bun” Kimbrel the more i grow to want to fade them. O’s are the trendy team now. They won a disproportionate (ridiculous) number of one run games last year. Kimbrel is a gas can. I made a ton the second he left the Phillies bullpen in the NLCS vs Arizona. Back to back NLCS blow ups iirc. He is the modern day Kenley Jansen for you Dodger people. Load the bases then try to wiggle out of the mess you created at max effort.

Lord Almighty Cleveland. Pile of smoking ash.

New year, same bullshit for the Twins. I wonder if the training staff gets paid overtime.

Royce Lewis, who cemented himself as the best hitter on the team last season (and he who also had two previous torn ACL's), hits a dinger in his first at-bat, singles his second at-bat, comes up limping rounding 2nd base advancing to third next play. Strained quad. At least he can go on IL batting 1.000

Oh and half the bullpen including the closer starting season on IL already.

Buxton back in CF, holding my breath anytime he has to run. Kepler just fouled TWO pitches off of himself as I typed this.

Man I can’t imagine my Tribe winning more than 75 games tops this year.

When you have Laureano hitting 3rd, Hedges and Rocchio in the lineup, it’s deep trouble. They had some promising young hitters in the spring, but they are playing that service years game as always with no Tito to save us.

This really has to be the nut low year for the AL Central. I bitch about the Twins but their AAA might win this division. Quick exercise, whats the best team we can make of the other 4 teams (besides the Twins) in the central, and would they look better than the Braves or Dodgers on paper?

    C: Sal Perez
    1b: Pasquintino or Torkelson
    2b: Gimenez
    ss: Witt Jr
    3b: Ramirez
    OF: Robert jr, Greene, ......Kwan?
    DH: lol

    starting 5 sp:
    Bieber
    Ragans
    Skubal
    McKenzie
    Maeda

bullpen: fuck it just take clevelands

I think I like Braves and Dodgers over that team.

BCR: That team is second to both Dodgers and Braves. We are going to see a 83 win division winner only because they play each other so much.

Why did they send down Manzardo?

Service time I assume. No other logical reason. The talk was he had to go down for a Rule 5 kid named De Los Santos, not the De Los santos we sent to Padres, but they ended up sending him back to Az anyway. Then the excuse became he still can't hit lefties, but with their lack of power, seems irrelevant. Its some $ game. He will be up this year.

Anybody see the utter asskickings in 2 games yesterday Baltimore destroyed Angels behind the insane pitching of Corbin Burnes with 12Ks and the Diamondbacks scoring the most runs in an inning on opening day in almost 100yrs with 14 in the 3rd. Holy Shit Batman. Baltimore was probably already a favorite to repeat in the AL East but I think alot of people thought the Diamondbacks run was a fluke but with the cloud over the Dodgers with Shoheis possible gambling issues one has to wonder if Arizona could win the NL West. Its one game I get it but sometimes its a sign early on.

Meanwhile, you still can't have a beard if you play for that team.

Haven’t watched a game yet, been busy and at night I’ve been watching the basketball tournament

Not the best timing to have opening day the same day as sweet 16

I see a lot of complaints about MLB marketing and I agree

Korea Series is a cool idea, but was weirdly executed and under promoted. I follow sports and gambling and learned about it from Sanlmar on here, had heard of it once before but slipped my mind. Why have it a week before the real season? Why you starting the season same day as the most popular basketball event?

GO RAYS don’t have the highest expectations for this year but could see them getting a wild card spot, who knows AL East and AL in general is tough

I don’t think Boston is as bad as their fans as bitching about

I disagreed with your take about Sawks rotation. Middle relief is trash.

Doesn’t matter. AL East is gonna be a bar room brawl. The best

But here’s the thing…. do not form too many lasting impressions based on the first week (or two). Players are going full max now.

How can i put this? When players gear down for the regular season grind natural talent shines through

It’s time for Dodger baseball. Giants lead the Dodgers all time 1280-1270. Now that’s a great rivalry.

Might go to Dodgers game tonight.

Looking at tickets and if they come down a bit more, I'll go. Otherwise, I won't. Weather looks decent (60s, no rain).

In other SoCal news, Anthony Rendon is 0-for-19.

Could this be the worst contract ever?

He hasn't hit more than 9 HR in a season since signing with the Angels in 2020. He's also never had more than 217 AB in a season with the Angels.

During the offseason, he drew further ire when he said that baseball doesn't matter to him, and his family is the important thing. When you're getting paid what he is, baseball had better matter!

Dude has just shut down and given up.

Jon Pappelvon went off about that which I enjoyed

I found his comments very distasteful, Rendon is a bum

Orioles AAA team beats the whites sox AAA 26-11.

Perfectly encapsulates the O's right now. 2 MLB teams worth of position players, no pitching depth.
