Maybe but they had 49 percent of OpenAI already. So they suffer both the benefits and rewards of losing and gaining him.

Well that was an exciting few days. Open AI runs off Altman. The employees mass revolt and tell the board to GFY and now Altman is back and the board is gone that forced him out. roflmao.

    @tine

I need a hit of remedial AGI.

I haven’t been following the Sam Altman deal but I overheard at the water cooler that Altman’s difficulties might have centered around imminent AGI. That has me engaged now.

Plus a little bit of Musk but his signal to bluff is impossible to game. He’s all about suspending AI and harboring grave concerns until we get governance and then I find out about Grok. Classic Musk

Anyway, make yourself useful. I think I could waste a lot of time or I could ask you.

Withholding your thoughts on coal fired pizza struck me as passive aggressive btw.

How close do you think Palantir is to AGI powered killbot drones? Seek out targets without human involvement.

I’m thinking PLTR is still a hold even at these lofty levels.

the only reason we arent seeing things like this used for mass casualty events on US soil is because, as far as i can tell, intelligence agencies are on top of the threat and good at their jobs.

    One hour on Q*.

The ability of one AI to give another AI feedback to a model was a point where I had to stop and digest. Engineers are slow and expensive.

Oh, the Sam Altman thing? It was Q*. Pretty sure I’m right. Altman could not be saddled. He was a wild stallion. I think Q* and Altman’s comments tipping it’s existence were a bridge too far for a group that was one step removed from SBF-style effective altruism ideologically

We were talking about the ridiculousness of forecasting 2028 last night. Yup.

Forgot to mention I stumbled into OpenAI employee Noam Brown who wrote the AI Cicero to solve poker in 2017 in the same fashion that Deep Blue solved chess (beat Kasparov for you olds) in ‘97.

I listened to a bit about the challenges of solving poker with its imperfect info vs chess or GO and how he applied AI.

This fucking kid prolly played only 30 days of poker too. Nails it. I hate these guys lol

I’m just grazing the meadow of AI for surface understanding. Taking me into all sorts of unexpected alleyways

The big three automakers got nothing on that roadrunner advert.

Henry Kissinger missed the dawn of robo warfare. By days. He woulda liked that.

Interestingly Kissinger was always a tactical nukes guy in the Middle East. Again, his death presents ironic timing.
