Major Hurricane Hillary could be a Tropical Storm hitting Southern California.

Slow moving tropical systems are devastating. People don't realize, historically, most damage is done by fresh water rain, just look at Hurricane Harvey, it camped out over Houston for two days and is the second most expensive storm ever behind Katrina.

If So Cal gets say 10 inches of rain its going to be rough. It the storm stalls and it gets 20 inches, obviously a catastrophe. I really only follow Atlantic and Gulf storms so sitting this one out in the Pacific. The Atlantic is heating up, my attention is diverted. Needed elsewhere on other message boards.

Only 3 inches anticipated for my house but Palm Springs might get that 10 inch BBC you speak of.

Rain out in the far west side of Phx metro about 30min or west of the city in area known as Buckeye. Meanwhile been overcast for hours were literally in the low 80s now and sun hasn’t even set yet (barely made it into the 90s) feels like Florida before a tropical system rolls in. We’re expecting sporadic showers and TStorms through the night as storm creeps north. It’ll help the lack of a monsoon for sure.
