I'm really liking the "new" tyde.
TID brother!
Sent. TID Tyde!
Over the last 20 years, I’ve played literally thousands of MTT’s on PokerStars, but only a handful of live events.
Most recently a small cash at Sycuan Casino in San Diego
The first live tourney I ever played was in 2004 at Hollywood Park in L.A. which was a $150.00 buy in with roughly 600 entrants.
I final tabled it taking 7th place
I’ll never forget being so nervous and excited walking into the huge poker room seeing all those degenerate grinders
But this was shortly after my first five figure win on Stars, and I was busting with confidence…head down, studying stack sizes, very little interaction.
Just picking spots and catching a few cards chipping up relentlessly
Just numbers, leverage, and big stack aggression
Anyway, I wanted to clarify one thing about my approach to large field tournaments…
According to the now defunct ‘Official Poker Rankings’ site which did comprehensive tracking of tournament stats, my career ITM was about 12%
Now by comparison to some, that is actually on the low end. Most players range in the high teens even low 20’s.
But the difference is that I play to WIN and it makes me happy to demolish my opponent.
I want every last chip in the tournament. There is no ‘cashing’, there is only victory leaving a pile of bloodied corpses and shattered dreams in my wake
Every single tournament I ever won, it was stacking up early and bullying the living shit out of the short stacks and hammering the blinds with a much wider range.
but clearly the game has changed immeasurably, and nobody folds anymore, so adapting is crucial. plenty of solver and GTO nerds to contend with.
that said, I’m not a player that is content just limping into the money with a short stack for the sake of ‘cashing’
In massive tourneys like this Triple 777 with 30 minute blind levels, (40K starting stack), imo getting out of the gate strong is a must. Camping out waiting on premiums early is a huge mistake
My first WSOP event the $1500.00 back in like 2006 I was two spots right of Brandon Cantu and he was so hyper aggro it was scary. 3 betting everything and double barreling all day. It taught me a lot about how so many players tighten up so much they’re exploitable.
It just comes down to my belief is that its better to go big or go home. Chipping away steadily amassing a massive fortress, and then stomping on heads sending them to the rail with no mercy
I feel really fresh, rested, and lucid lately. Got my feet wet playing cash at SouthPoint and dialed right in immediately. My restored eyesight is a game changer
Lets just hope for some run good and maybe winning some races, because when I’m fortunate enough to stack up big, it’s usually a fucking bloodbath
So to those invested, the one thing I should make clear is that I’m playing for a bracelet and 1st place prize money, not a lame ass min-cash
alrighty then

Marty: I have an off day from WSOP today (Thursday), and will do radio in the evening. I will also be sleeping in the morning, most likely. I will text you tomorrow in the afternoon regarding the possibility of meeting me to register for the $777. When I meet him, I will walk with Marty to the registration area, hand him the $777 to sign up for the tournament, and report back here after he's registered. It will be up to him if he wishes to reveal his table number and section color.
Best of Luck to Tyde in any events he plays.
I hope to see you run deep and win an event.
I know you are a good player and have a lot of faith you will be successful.
GL Tide and investors. Looking forward to updates.
more content please
you are a top 5 poster, and offer up a lot of positive material adding a ton of value to the community
I for one have been inspired by the ‘Nicky Pipes Lifestyle’ and very much focused on healthy living, early to bed, early to rise, and dining like royalty
Tyde, Druff
Has everyone paid up and this is a go?
Through the powers of cmoney (rip) may the wormhole powers of yesteryear be passed on to the 2023 WSOP $777 tournament.
AMEN
I want in what is left??
