He's still racking up millions of dollars of free flights per year and being paid to do so in the form of the air miles he's getting. I imagine Druff in tears just thinking about missing out on a deal like this. He's probably going to end up costing United $100 million in total.

Relax for a minute. It’s a true story yet very old.
Bottom line, only the very rich knew about this, took advantage of this
and successfully fought off corporate lawyers.

Long story short, filthy rich

Considering all the airlines went bankrupt since then and half went out of business, that’s like 675k in todays dollars and the guy ran well.

Even if Druff had the opportunity today, that’s too risky an investment for him even if he had the time. All the frequent flyer comps listed would have tempted him though. They would never offer that loophole today. It would be simply flights and you don’t accrue the miles for comps.
