finally knocked out my eye surgery yesterday

holy shit what a difference

my vision had deteriorated so quickly over the last 3 weeks I could barely see 10 feet in front of my face

still slightly blurry at long distances but overall its a game changer

I’m staying in town for at least another two weeks and will be getting back into action playing as much poker as possible to get nice and tuned up

oh and bottomset will be pleased to know that I did upgrade to a suite at the Rio….they are basically giving the rooms away during the week.

been several months since I’ve played any poker due to my limited vision, but I feel like diving back in head first now…shouldn’t take long to get dialed in again

picking up my car this afternoon which has been essentially ‘abandoned’ for the last two weeks near SouthPoint

you guys would not even believe all the crazy shit that has happened to me on this trip

its kind of a ghost town and most of the restaurants and shops are usually closed….cigarettes are 18.50 and a cup of coffee is 8 bucks…

but its right across the street from The Palms which is the best property in Las Vegas imo

the suites at the Rio in the Masquerade tower are huge with a killer view of the mountains and strip

I got all my resort fees waived and after taxes etc it’s basically free. a few of the staff told me that management doesn’t give a shit.

it did take almost 2 hours to wait in a monster line just to check in, but again at least until October…Sunday through Thursday rates are dirt cheap for a very nice deluxe suite

I saw the shitty Gold Coast has resort fees….which made me laugh because the pool is smaller than most apartment complex pools.

I’m actually at Gold Coast right now having lunch at Fridays waiting to go pick up my car…this place is a major dump

the Rio comped my resort fees because the registration line was 2 hours long and the desk manager was nice enough to apologize for the inconvenience when I checked in and adjusted my total cost

the place is pretty dead so I imagine they have an overabundance of available rooms…at least during the week.

even without the resort fee adjustment, its still less than 40 a night sunday through thu

There is always a long line at the Rio check in, even at 2am on a weekday! If I didn’t have Diamond status to use the VIP check in, I wouldn’t even stay here.

I will be doing the same eventually -- perhaps at around exactly your age, as we are about 7.5 years apart. I have a minor cataract in my right eye, but it does not interfere with daily life, does not affect my night driving, and is only noticeable under very specific circumstances. But obviously it's coming. My parents both had cataracts, as well.

I would have been in today's Milly Maker, but I was exhausted from 3 long days with the olds at the Seniors, so I decided to just sleep a ton and do radio tonight.
