    Like I said, I really feel bad for the 19 year old it looks like he was talked into it by his Dad as an experience of a lifetime. The other 4 guys, I really don't give a shit about, what a positively retarded thing to do then to hop into that erector set and travel to one of the most dangerous places in the world. Maybe hanging out in an active volcano is worse. Outside a volcano, what is a worse spot on earth than an ocean floor two miles away from land? Maybe walking around the Sudan with a Cross chain on your neck would be worse.

    But here is the deal, thrill seekers will challenge death all the time. I mean Tom Cruise does some incredibly crazy shit and it would not surprise anyone if you pulled up Drudge one morning and his giant face is all over the page with the obit under it. BUT, he takes every precaution in the book.

    These fucking guys just hopped into an non-certified vessel, billionaires, and said fuck it lets go. Except the poor 19 year old son, who probably was terrified. That just sucks.

    The Oceangate founder will almost certainly be indicted over this.

    How dare they make a submersible out of carbon fiber. These are thick pieces sent in by some premier composite manufacturer.


    Cliffs: CF is surprisingly weak when crushed.
    Imo they didn't crush that last one on its side so as to not embarrass they CF manufacturer.

    As far as titanium, my cousin got upsold some titanium gears for his quad, lasted like 2 rides.

    They must of been making the sub light for transport reasons. So the mother ship could carry it and loading / unloading.

    One thing for sure, this is going to make a helluva a movie, probably $1B gross since its linked to the Titanic. Obviously Tom Hanks will be playing the Oceangate owner Stockton Rush.

    I guess, but a documentary would make much more sense. What would the movie be? They go down, do almost nothing for nearly two hours, then go squish? The documentary would probably just be the stories of the company and the people on board.

    The only redeeming thing in this whole saga, was the owner was on board his own shitvessel. I am sure when the walls were caving in, I just assume in the back of his mind was yeah, this thing is a piece of shit.
