U.S. Open La La Country Club embarrassed

Today two footnotes in the golf world tied the U.S. Open record for best round.
Best round means the number of strokes under par.
62 on a par 70 track is equal to but not better than a 63 on a par 71 course.

Johnny Miller, notched a 63 on the historic par 71 Oakmont in the final round to win.
Every tournament saves it’s toughest set up for the final round.

The Country Club hierarchy in fogville should be embarrassed.

They got it slightly wrong but as commentators were saying they needed to ease players in gently- hopefully they make it tougher in upcoming days

Hilarious that members aren't allowed to wear shorts, plenty of eyebrows raised when players were running around in them lol.

Fuck LACC. They denied my grandparents a membership because my grandmother (a Stanford grad) was half Jewish. My grandfather was an amateur golfing legend in NoCal, and might be the only person to ever turn down an invitation to join Cypress Point.

An absolute disgrace of a US Open. The venue is absolute trash, the "crowd" is limited to like 4,000 a day uhhh what in the fuck are you kidding me? It's like corporate tents and a few people every hole. The entire thing is a joke. No one gives a shit about sports in LA, even the ones who are there could be mistaken for a Wednesday practice round crowd. There is no atmosphere, no energy, no excitement, no hoards of crowds 20 rows deep watching the action hanging on every shot. It is totally dead. Never ever even think about a course like this again. Who the hell thought this was a good idea in the first place to set it up like this?? Oh that's right, the USGA and the bunch of idiots they are. Not to mention the fact they are so fucking scared of 3 players complaining after the round they set it up to avoid that because AGAIN, more pussies running things.

I agree. Move the US Open to Europe.

Maybe the most sickening comment I’ve heard in a live broadcast
    came today from Tom Rinaldi.

Speaking of the L.A. Country Club he said something to the effect of
“a big thanks to the members who have allowed everyone (meaning all the unwashed) to experience this
    course”

Never mind it’s a dressed municipal track,
    he justified discrimination and elitism

This national competition sees a leaderboard with names like Wyndham and Harris.

    It’s Rory’s tournament.

    You can’t dismiss a S. Scheffler or even a D. Johnston

but the only silverware a Wyndham or Rickie will be lifting

    will come from room service

Found it a horrible course choice and worst final round I’ve ever seen. Fleetwood shot a 63 and multiple guys posted 65-67s, so there were scores out there. Just not for those 4 who couldn’t make a single putt to save their lives. Big win for Clark. Dude’s highest finish in major was 75th and his first win this year. What a life-changing set of exemptions for him at 29. He was fortunate all the guys who could have applied pressure were too far back.
