Last night is a perfect example of why you don’t play above your bankroll, because you don’t play your best/normal game. A bunch of scared money on the table. Plus, a game with deep stacked competent players encourages patient play and waiting for a trap hand.

More thinking about this... Yes I think the biggest factor is nobody had a rebuy which lead to a conservative strategy for everyone. I mean have you ever heard of a cash game where not a single player had a second buyin?

Obviously you can’t force someone to rebuy, but I think they’ll just dance around that. Probably a “Gentleman’s agreement” that they wouldn’t leave the game early after losing 1bullet.

This really is clown world. Presumably the $500k thing was an adjustment they made so there would be more action (people would have less to fear with shallower stacks), but that's a total fail when you've promoted a "million dollar buyin" game for months.
I will say this has been huge for Hustler Casino itself. All cash tables on property have been filled for 24 hours since this shit started. This isn't a monster property like Commerce or Bike. It's a medium sized room, which is far quieter and low-key, and in general the employees are nicer and more accommodating. Always liked the place.
Usually Ryan Feldman is a genius with putting together great lineups and innovative gimmicks, but this one looks like a fail. It's one of these things which sounds good on paper, but sucks in practice. They should have found a better way to adjust than making it a $500k buyin, because the optics of that are pretty bad.
Not sure why Airball isn't playing, given that he supposedly was sitting on property with a duffel bag filled with a million bucks. They need someone like him to at least shake up the table talk. 2000s JRB and Tony G would have been great, but the geriatric versions of them just don't make for good poker TV.
And I say geriatric very respectfully, being just 2 years younger than JRB. But these guys are not the young and boisterous dudes we used to know.

Ryan addressed it on Twitter, and I think I posted that to PFA, as well.
Some guy came up to me at WSOP 2022, who claimed to be a "friend of a listener to the Pokerfraudalert show", but said he didn't listen himself. He said his friend told him to find me and tell me the story. The guy basically said something very similar to what was posted on Reddit, but at the time (a year ago), nobody had written or said this publicly.
The guy wanted me to blow this up, but he had no proof, so I chose not to say anything. I wasn't going to besmirch Ryan's reputation by bringing out rumors told to me by some random at WSOP.
Once the post appeared on Reddit (maybe written by the same guy?), obviously it became a different matter, and worthy of discussion. Ryan responded and basically denied everything, and gave his own version of events.
When the smoke cleared, I had no idea who was right and who was wrong, and I gave up on it.
I thought jrb was broke. I remember when Druff told story abou him showing up at a cruise as a single. Jrb being broke was a running joke on 2 plus 2 like doyle being deceased. He probably is being staked for nine hundred ninety thousand.
