I don't even know if sweeping legislation would move the needle.
Anecdotally I have to believe that making certain guns illegal or much harder to obtain would prevent the average mass shooter from getting them (loser incels, mentally ill trans killers etc) as they don't have access to say, illegal arms dealers from getting their hands on them, but the NRA rolls deep.
There may be some token attempt at addressing the issue like when bump stocks were outlawed for a minute after Stephen Paddock (now legal), but that's it. This one is just fodder for the right (hero cops and trans killer), Uvalde was left-wing fodder (incompetent cops, took place in Texas). Wash, rinse, repeat.
Just have to hope it doesn't affect you personally.

This NPR story came thru my feed last month. My first thought was what the hell is NPR doing a puff piece on people with guns for? They've always been anti-gun rights. This piece is about tranny gun groups across the country. My 2nd thought was OMG, mentally unstable people with guns!
So there you have it from NPR, folks. Not okay to have guns unless you're tranny. Better get used to it, folks. With the way they are arming themselves we are going to see a lot more from these tranny shooters in the future.
