This happened the other day in the town that I worked when I first graduated from college. A 5 year old little black boy was beat to death for pissing his pants. I'm 100% sure that this poor little kid was much more innocent than Trayvon and this is a much more horrible death than being shot in the heart.

Where are the circuit traveling "reverends"? Why am I not hearing cries for justice on CNN or MSNBC nonstop? This whole thing is fucking sickening and it's things like this that make me wish Alabama had never retired the electric chair.

Calhoun County District Attorney Brian McVeigh told WBMA-TV Wednesday that Gregory Caver of Anniston was beaten until he was unconscious Friday, and later died at a hospital in Birmingham.

Not that I'm defending anyone's actions or motives, but the issue most people had with Trayvon Martin was that Zimmerman was never charged, not so much the crime itself. If Zimmerman was charged from the get-go nobody would have ever heard of Trayvon Martin or George Zimmerman and it would have been just another shooting story in the local papers and on local tv. It was the process of getting an arrest that made the Trayvon Martin story front page news, not the actual crime.

In the story you cited above the people were arrested and charged, so its simply a local story. A heinous and despicable local story.

That's why I posted it Steve. Al Sharpton loves to get up in front of the cameras and preach about how an "innocent" black youth was taken, but only if taken by a non-black person. If the supposed "leaders" of the black community aren't willing to try to break the cycle of violence that exists inside their own culture then they are useless imo. It would do much more long term good for them to focus on this and the everyday murders in Chicago than to spend a year in Florida over what was essentially an isolated incident.
