For the most part, the modern Euros are awful to watch playing poker. Many of them are excellent players, but they are super slow and have zero personality. Makes for bad TV.

Absolutely. Not sure if it’s just me but I found the initial main events so interesting with moneymaker, Raymer, hachem, and gold. By the time we got to Yang something changed and I can barely name any past champions in the last 10 years. Don’t watch at all now

like it or not Gold was the peak performance ME championship run. I know a lotta people can't stand him and he is definitely not-standable but his ME run was still one of the best just on entertainment alone. His table talk was Top-Top and we also got to watch him lose his ass on HSP and then later on hear about him losing more ass in Molly's game

The matusow skiekhan video was so tilting. I haven’t watched it in ten years but remember just how much they came across as terrible people and reminded me why I can’t stand casinos.

I know Matusow is not an all-time fan favorite (to say the least), but I think he was 100% justified that entire video. It all started with him reacting to something Sheik absolutely wasn't supposed to do, then Sheik calls over the referee like a bitch. You're really going to tell me Sheik was legitimately offended at being told to shut the fuck up when he knew damn well that he might have revealed what he folded?

Especially with a board like that. What if someone has something like 10-J for an open-ended straight draw and now you just told that guy you probably had an ace in your hand? If so, then it becomes that much less likely your opponent has an ace, which your opponent also knows, giving him the opportunity to be even more aggressive if he does have an ace for top pair, or alternatively, might cause him not to bluff if he doesn't have the ace and otherwise might have tried to scare draws off the hand.

I'm sorry, but I have to back Matusow 100% on that one and I'm glad he busted Sheik out there.
