Vegas poker player Lindsey Kludt claims she was harassed while playing because she's polyamorous

Lindsey Kludt is a Vegas poker player in her early 30s. I'm not sure if she supports herself with poker, or if she has a regular job. She is not all that well known in poker, but she is friends with a lot of better known female poker pros in Vegas. She tweets a lot. I believe most haven't heard of her because she hasn't done much tournament-wise, with only $19k in lifetime cashes.




I'm not sure how I ended up following Lindsey, whose Twitter handle is @Lindseyisrad. But I probably followed her about 2 years ago, and she kept popping up on my feed, even thought I rarely interacted with her. Up until October 2022, I hadn't really taken much notice of her, and she just kinda seemed like a normal 30s white poker chick to me.

That all changed when she started beaming about a guy coming to see her from out of state. At first it wasn't very notable. Apparently she met some dude in Vegas recently, they got along great, and he was coming out to Vegas to see her again. Then she was tweeting occasional updates about the situation, stating that it was going well, and how she was really excited and happy. Okay, great for her.

But then came the part I didn't expect. She tweeted to clarify for the confused people out there that, yes, she already has a boyfriend!

This caused Sean McCormack (MGM Resorts director of poker) to tweet this, presumably to show that MGM Resorts wouldn't allow this to happen, thus possibly encouraging the wokes to move their future business from Venetian to an MGM property:

Anyway, this one isn't as easy to judge as I first thought. It does bring up some interesting questions regarding discussions of sexuality at the poker table, and what people should be allowed to say.

There is no question that men need to treat women with respect at the poker table, and shouldn't sexualize them. I have always adhered to that standard myself, and have always treated women at the table the exact same way I treat the men.

However, this wasn't your garden variety case of poker sexual harassment.

It began with Stan asking about the ring she was wearing, and Lindsey responding that it signified polyamory. Presumably Lindsey went on to explain what that meant, and Stan then bluntly gave his opinion of it.

For those unfamiliar, polyamory isn't the same as swinging. Polyamory is the concept of having romantic relationships with more than one person at a time, whereas swinging is strictly sexual, where the additional sex partners are just bodies being used for sex, and nothing beyond that. Lindsey is polyamorous, which is why she was so excited about that guy from the east coast coming to see her. She was developing feelings for him beyond just the sex, and displaying it for all to see on Twitter while her cuck boyfriend probably wanted to crawl into a hole and die.

The question here is whether Stan should have been allowed to state his opposition to polyamory, or if he should have said, "Oh, okay", and kept his mouth shut.

I feel that, if Lindsey is going to bring up the topic of polyamory (even if answering a question about her ring), people at the table should have a right to express opposition to it. Polyamory is a lifestyle choice, not an innate sexuality. Opposing polyamory is not the same thing as opposing being gay. I feel Stan should have had every right to state that he doesn't like polyamory, and even that he would never let his woman engage in it. (In fact, most men feel the exact same way as Stan!)

Where Stan stepped over the line, however, was the namecalling after Lindsey left the table. Apparently Lindsey went off on him, told him he was misogynistic, etc, and the conversation died shortly after that. However, once she left the table, he kept going on about how she was a "whore", even after her friend Kyna told him that he was being inappropriate, and asked him to stop. This namecalling shouldn't have occurred, whether Lindsey was still at the table or not. It especially should have stopped after Kyna remarked that it was bothering her.


So I'm kind of in the middle on this one. Lindsey frequently sexualizes herself on her public Twitter, and also pushes the poly stuff pretty aggressively. If she brings up the topic at the poker table, people should be allowed to express their opinions on the matter. Lindsey needs to realize that her sexual/romantic choices put her in the fringes, and she shouldn't be discussing it so openly if she's afraid of criticism.

At the same time, people should always be civil at the poker table, even if other players' lifestyles are something with which they disagree. Stan shouldn't have said anything about Lindsey after she walked away from the table, nor should he have engaged in the namecalling.

I also find all the associated virtue signaling annoying. Women have the choice to sexualize themselves on social media, but then they can't complain when their sexuality comes up as a discussion or topic of debate. If you're going to tell the table about your polyamory, then you need to be a big girl and accept any criticism, and not automatically label it "misogynistic" because a dude at the table states he wouldn't want his girlfriend doing that. In fact, Lindsey, most women wouldn't want their men doing it either.

I agree this is an unclear area, though when someone (female) asks you to stop making comments about them because you are making them uncomfortable at the poker table, or anywhere else for that matter, common courtesy is to move on to another topic and maybe reflect on your own choices of language around others.

I don't understand the poly thing. I understand swinging much more. At least with the swinging, both partners agree that they're just using the other people for sexual pleasure/variety, and will not develop feelings for them. Polyamory involves the development of more than one romantic relationship at a time, which I can't imagine is emotionally healthy for anyone.
