    Zelda and Metroid.

Still don’t understand how but at 7/8 I beat Zelda completely in my own with zero guides. Never beat the second quests when you begin new game after winning.

Would be harder decision if castlevania 2 was in there or if we were talking about snes tecmo bowl.

I was a really big nintendo player. My parents got me a system right around 1986 so I was the first of anyone I knew to get one (Played Super Mario and NES baseball my first two games). Still not quite sure why my parents got me it so quickly because none of them were into games at all.

I literally woke up every Saturday morning at 7am and by 8am would walk and wait outside of local videogame/movie store by myself to rent game for weekend (wanted to make sure I got best selection). If I remember correctly all rentals were 1 day but renting on Saturday got you to keep the game until Monday.

SNES remains my favourite system but here are my NES somewhat hidden gems I somehow found on my own.

Tecmo Super Bowl and Super Mario Bros

Spent a couple years with friends playing Tecmo Super Bowl. What a game!

Put me down for Metroid and then everything else. Clearly the most advanced game of its era.

Then Zelda out if this list. If they put Kid Icarus in the list that may take 2 for me.

It was always strange to me how “different” SMB 2, castlevania 2, zelda 2 were compared to the original. The Japanese just wanted to package a already completed game with a skin and send it out there.

Historically disappointed that Nintendo chose to move forward with Zelda and SMB as the platforms alpha games. Always thought Metroid would have been apart of that and that by now a Kid Icarus metroid game would have been developled.

Super Metroid for the SNES is the best in generation game ever made. Its actively speed run to this day.

Lot of great fames from this era. Wonder if 25-30 years from now if the 40/50 year olds will look back on the games of today with the same love.

Despite playing so many games I rarely finish many except the best ones. Obviously finished Zelda and Metroid.

I actually never played Kid Icarus growing up. It wasn't until my twenties when for some reason I downloaded it on an NES emulator and ended up beating it. After playing it I really wondered why they never made any sequels given how great it was? The only other NES game emulator game I remember playing was NES open.

It's really a shame that I gave away my SNES and games. Super metroid or link to the past likely the best. (although I haven't played SNES ROMS in years I still have 3 gigs of SNES ROMS saved on my PC).

I kind of feel this is more directed at kids born in the late 70s and 80s than people my age.

But I will go with Super Mario Bros and Mike Tyson's Punch Out.

I was a huge fan of the original Punch Out from 1983, by the way.

Mario3 and Tecmo super bowl are the correct answers.

(Zelda and Metroid also approved by the Romanian judge)

Most people i sent this too had defined groupings.

It was some combo of Meroid/zelda/castlevania -or- Techmo bowl/punchout/SMB3
