I think it is highly unlikely that Tate is completely innocent.

Remember, he was running webcam scams and other shady operations for the past 8 years or so. There's no way his Romanian compound was simply a place where pretty girls voluntarily moved to make Tiktok videos.

There's probably more to the story that we haven't heard. I'm guessing that he's guilty of some things, but some of the other charges are exaggerated.

For example, it could be that the girls had an agreement to work X number of months minimum in exchange for him paying for their transportation from their home country, and some of them decided to back out prematurely, and then he wouldn't let them leave. Obviously I'm not going to defend this, but it makes it more complicated than a situation where he's a cartoonish villain who tricks young women to come to his Romanian compound, and then holds them prisoner and forces them to cam.

I do think that Tate was probably emboldened by years of getting away with everything, and felt like he would never get in any trouble, especially in Romania where he may have bribed some local police and figured he was untouchable.

Bottom line is that right wingers shouldn't be hitching their wagons to this unhinged scammer, but his critics also should refrain from painting him as a supervillain until they have all the facts.

It is political, but I can't say I like Tate because his entire business model involved exploiting young men starved for romance and sex.

The webcam scam was particularly nasty, involving the girls being instructed to give phony sob stories to the simps they're camming with, and then the simps volunteer to give them money. While some dudes paying for camgirls are just horny pervs, another subset is just lonely, and desires connection/conversation with women. This is actually how not-so-attractive webcam models still do well, because personality can go a long way in that space. Tate obviously realized this and seeked to exploit it. So it really is gross to instruct these girls to feign massive financial issues just so these lonely dudes open up the wallets and send them money which actually goes to Tate.

And then Tate's whole alpha persona is, again, meant to appeal to aimless, lonely dudes who feel like they need a "teacher" to show them how to get women and succeed in life. But most of the "advice" he dispensed would fail the average sad sack, and again, the whole thing was just to both stroke his own ego and to line his pockets.
