Not sure what offended her about my tweet. Maybe she didn't understand that I wasn't insulting her, and was making reference to old Annie Duke bad hygiene stories? I had very little prior interaction with Jami prior to this, and none of it negative.

Who is Jami Lafay?

She's a poker player from Vegas, who is 43 years old and sometimes acts erratically. Somehow she has like 12k followers, even though she isn't particularly well known.




My only prior interaction with her involved some sexual harassment claims she had involving the Aria poker room. For awhile last year, she was claiming that some guy at Aria was majorly harassing her, but the room did nothing about it, and in fact banned her instead of him. These claims were public on Twitter. One of her friends added me to a DM convo about this, seeing if I could help. I decided that it wasn't clear what was going on here (seemed like there had to be more to the story), so I chose not to get involved. In general I don't like interject myself into matters like this unless it's clear what really happened. I doubt she was making it up, but it just seemed like there had to be another reason she was banned.

For whatever reason, Jami does not use her real last name on Twitter. It's not Lafay, and I know the real one, but I will keep it quiet for the sake of her privacy.

Honestly this chick seems like one of those poker girls who is fairly attractive, yet also fairly crazy. Cue hot/crazy matrix.

She claims to be part Native American. Can confirm Indian chicks are a wee bit mental based on my first ex wife. I had the laugh I was previously accused of siding with her trying to suck up to her for some supposedly pathetic attempt to hit on her. Problem is we have talked some in DMs and she knows Im married and she has a long term BF herself so we both thought it was funny the assumptions this troll was throwing out.

Pretty much agree that there are arguments on both sides.

I think she was too rude to the guy, but at the same time, poker players have long had hygiene problems, and that's not good etiquette either when you've gotta sit with 8 others plus a dealer.

Something just like this just happened to me at Harrah's North Kansas City, my regular room.

It was Friday, maybe 1 p.m. and about three tables were going (14 or so in room). I'm Diamond, so I give floor my name to get to top of list and go sit at an empty table. There are 11 other empty tables and 100+ empty chairs.

A woman who I don't know walks in (glass door, glassed in room) and is dressed quite flamboyantly. She walks over and sits next to me. Not sure why. If I was in Vegas, I'd think she was a hooker. No reason to choose that seat (of two) in the whole room next to me unless she wants to talk to me for some reason, I can't think of one though at 1 in the afternoon in Kansas City.

Then I notice she reeks of marijuana. I have no problem with people smoking, but I don't want to sit next to her while I wait. So I get up and get some chips, then walk to a table to talk to some friends.

I'm seated a couple minutes later at seat 5, and have yet to play a hand when the seat next to me opens and they call Kiesha, or Tiesha or whatever. And she sits next to me again in 4 (two open seats at table, though this was not weird like the first time.) So right away I say I'm moving to 1 and push my chips over there. I sit down and within 30 seconds she says:

"What, don't you like Black people?"

Well, I'm totally floored and just say "No." and nothing more. Then a Black regular says "Bill, tell her what we did together last summer." Like sticking up for me getting me to say "Yeah, dude. We went on vacation together..." But I don't.

She only buys in for $100 and bust within 15 minutes and leaves.

And she reeked.

When I discussed it on radio, I stated that she had a point regarding a lot of poker players not bathing and being gross, but that she also unnecessarily made a public scene about it.

However, I also stated that everyone was making too big of a deal about her tweet, and a lot of virtue signaling was going on.

But yes, the community has gotten hypersensitive these days. Sign of the times.

Ah, we're back to square one. She is now once again bashing former Aria poker room manager (and now director of MGM Resorts poker) Sean McCormack for his banning of her from some incident which occurred there in 2022.

That's how I was originally introduced to Jami. Someone threw me into a group DM with her about the matter, attempting to get me involved. I thought something had to be missing from the story, so I chose not to stick my neck into it. I still believe that. Jami claims she was banned simply for complaining to Sean about sexual harassment at the table, but seeing her repeated dramatic behavior on Twitter, I don't buy it. I think she created a huge scene and McCormack felt he had no choice but to 86 her.

This most recent rant spawned from a tweet thread started by McCormack in response to a Vegas poker player named Lindsey. I've been following Lindsey for awhile, but have rarely interacted with her. I will start a separate thread about her issue, as it's fairly interesting.
