On Friday afternoon, he was dead. He had been complaining for 10 days of a cold-like illness which just wasn't going away, and it was becoming increasingly difficult for him to breathe. He tested negative for COVID.
I think there's a good chance he was poisoned.
He was only 48 and healthy. Guys that age don't just croak of cold-like illnesses.
I think the possibility of foul play of course has to be ruled out but
with a massively attended by the whole Globe World Cup and over a long time Crime will happen. Maybe some deaths too, not familiar with the specifics here in this. Other than to say this also comes with the territory in any Country if this were to have been. World Cup is a big deal, and over a long period of time to people come go, stay for the whole time probably. And this will happen unfortunate but, not sure exactly how this went but, bad things happens at home too.

There is an spotlight on them that hasn't been there before. That country (and region) is controlled by people with more money than we can imagine - to think that everyone will suddenly be able to handle critics is silly.
He was very vocal in exposing the human rights violations and his criticism went viral, causing international embarrassment for Qatar.
Meanwhile every other commercial on during the World Cup coverage is selling Qatar as a tourist destination.
Someone decided to deal with it the way they deal criticism - and now he is dead.
Oh, or maybe its just a big coincidence ... someone publishing content exposing human right violations in a horribly corrupt country amidst a big push for tourism winds up dead. Falls ill immediately after his criticism 'going viral'.
The Qataris must have learned that the bone saw is a pr nightmare.

Many people are trying to make this political from a right/left standpoint. Left wingers are insisting he was killed because he wore a rainbow shirt to flaunt his gay rights support in a country which persecute gays (he was straight btw), and some right wingers are insisting that this was just an unfortunate natural death.
However, this death simply makes no sense. Guys who are 48 and healthy don't just get cold-like symptoms and die, under normal circumstances. Even if he had COVID which didn't show up on a test, it's unlikely that was his cause of death because of the speed it got him (10 days) and because this version of COVID doesn't tend to attack the lungs that often.
It didn't have to be a state actor. It could have been a fanatic in Qatar who decided to punish this American journalist who flaunted his gay rights support and wrote articles bashing their forced labor practices. It might have been something along the lines of, "Fuck this westerner coming into our country and trying to make us look bad."
Had he just died abruptly of a heart attack or something like that, it would be less likely to have been a poisoning. Men in their late 40s do die of heart attacks sometimes, so you could say the guy was just unlucky. However, this one was really weird. I don't believe it was natural, and I don't think we should be looking at this from a left/right standpoint, but rather from the standpoint of a US citizen perhaps being murdered abroad.
As Slowroll said, this death has plausible deniability, whereas if he were found beheaded, shot dead, or stabbed, obviously it would make the country look terrible, and the US would be demanding justice.
How do we know he didn't? No cause of death has been released AFAIK. It is quite possible he had a cold AND died of a sudden heart attack. Also, there are infections which travel to heart tissue, infect it, and lead to cardiac issues.Originally Posted by Dan Druff
I tend to lean with Daly that IMO Qatar isn't going to go to this kind of trouble to "off" one of many Westerners doing mild, mostly empty activism. For example, the whole English team just kneeled before their France game. Obviously Qatar would prefer that didn't happen, but ultimately it doesn't matter enough to assassinate them. Neither did Wahl's activism IMO.
If he had gotten sick any other time he’d probably had been fine, but covering the World Cup non stop wore his ass out and he probably had walking pneumonia and it developed into something worse.
Reporters with him in the booth claim he was joking and such no signs of distress then keeled over dead. If it was natural causes probably had a heart attack or something weird maybe a blood clot in his lung(s) who knows. But yeah theres always the possibility he pissed off some turban wearing camelfucker and they slipped him some cyanide or something also. Hell maybe even some wild ass middle eastern snake venom shit. Who knows. But truth will come out eventually theyre gonna do an autopsy Im sure when he returns to the states and not just take the word of Qatar.

Dont know if anybody heard this, but another journalist also died within hours of Grant Wahl who was from Qatar itself. The news release sure sounds suspect indicating like he wasnt a faithful Muslim and hoped Allah had mercy on him. This one definitely makes me more suspicious that Wahl was no random visit from the Grim Reaper.
What oral / IV poison behaves like this? If you do a bit of research and can't come up with anything then it PROBABLY wasn't poison.
20 years ago everyone would be saying he had AIDS and that caused it.............. No one mentions it here because of the new conspiracy movement but seems far more likely that AIDS + some sickness did him in over him being poisoned.

It was a photographer and he also looks like he is in his 40's. How did 2 guys in their 40's drop dead all of a sudden within 2 days of each other?
