    Thanksgiving Plans

    Happy Thanksgiving cucks...what's everyone doing?

Am hosting friends against my better judgment; won a Green Egg smoker in a charity auction earlier this year and am smoking turkey and salmon.

Making butternut squash, roasted brussel sprouts, mashed potatoes. Friends bringing desserts. Obv plentiful wine and bourbon.

Happy Thanksgiving Sloppy Joe. I'm going with my wife and oldest daughter to our nieces house for about an hour then driving to Boston to pick up my youngest kid who is returning from Spain with her college friends. I'm looking forward to the Patriots playing at night. Hope you have fun with your friends. Menu sounds great. Hope you and everyone have the best day tomorrow.

My wife and I are Epic Pass holders; we spent the day at Okemo Mtn. Surprisingly good conditions for so early in the season, although only 5ish lifts and 2 dozen or so trails are open.
Was almost t-shirt skiing weather around 1pm.

Thanksgiving was a little different this year for us.

My mother in law just entered hospice about a week ago. Her side of the family decided to have Thanksgiving dinner where she was staying - this was primarily planned out by my wife and one of her sisters. Relatives even came from a South Dakota Lakota reservation to see her (who normally dont travel).

Everything went better than expected and the food was good. We catered out which turned out fine. As far as cooking goes, it was kind of a relief in a certain way that i could take a break and not have to worry about it this year, even though i inherently love cooking. I gladly would have done it if it came down to it.

She has had cancer on and off for several years (multiple myeloma)
Things went fine years ago after treatment and she went into remission, but the last couple of years it just escalated. They threw everything they could at it. She is one tough lady, and I'm not even exaggerating. I don't know how she has taken the pain without certain pain meds, but she does. The doctors gave her about 2 weeks, and that was over a week ago...

Im just glad that my wife and the rest of her relatives could see her and say goodbyes before she is gone.

On Wednesday I played a marathon 40/80 session at Bellagio, including hours of 3 handed. Took a break to talk to a reporter from a major publication about the BetMGM scandal.

Then at 11:30pm I drove 300 miles through the desert, went to sleep, then took everyone to see my parents and sister at 2.

Then we had dinner in a restaurant & we went home.

    Would do again.

Okemo is aight Stratton Bromley and Killington in Vermont

Killington (6 Mountains??) is the best in the Northeast for skiing also New Hampshire White Mountains are not too bad and less popular than say Killington. The one Northeast Ski Resort most people dont Ski and its reallly good and for East Coast difficult is Lake Placid NY (where the 80s Olympics were) , all the way up top think its called 'North Face' there and you take another chair lift up, to the Top at Lake Placid and it is dangerous and difficult the most on that Mountain Lake Placid. Most dont tend to go all the way to Upstate New York to Ski Lake Placid and choose Vermont more which has more options Lake Placid is remote and all by itself almost in Canada.

I wasn’t planning on it, but I cleaned up over the last two days playing 1/2 NL at a casino in Michigan. And going to get another chance to play there later today. Very soft game.

I've dipped my toe in salmon fishing this year as time allows with some success and have to say that it's god.

Not sure my two year old gets more excited than when I haul one in and quickly kill.

I don't disagree with you regarding Killington, it's VTs best option (Size, variety of trails, difficulty.) Unfortunately it's not an EPIC mountain so it's out for this season most likely.
Okemo, Stowe, Mt Snow, and Sunapee will be our focus this season, plus a run thru the Colorado resorts in mid-January (Keystone, Breckenridge, Beaver Creek, Vail, etc.)
We'll hope to hit Heavenly in Tahoe if we can make the time in early February.

Non-EPIC mountains will be a rarity this year, if at all.

I’m working lift ops at Heavenly this season. HMU if you get to south lake.
