Stacey Abrams has always come off as so shady and dishonest. She lost by 55,000 votes, but exaggerated a few "voter suppression" stories to make it sound like there was mass disenfranchisement aimed at black people in Georgia in 2018. Had she lost by 500 votes, these claims might have been reasonable, but to lose by 55,000 votes and claim you were the rightful winner is Trump-level sore loserdom.
This is why I laugh at haughty Democrats claiming that 2020s Republicans are a threat to democracy. They're correct that Trump acted like a fool, but they make it sound like a historic Republican attack on democracy is occurring, when in reality Democrats have been whining about results since Gore lost in 2000, and actually rigged a Presidential election in 1960 for JFK (look it up). In reality, both parties need to stop crying when they lose an election they were hoping to win.
Abrams founded an organization called Fair Fight Action after losing in 2018, and it raised $61 million in donations from 2019-2020, including some from George Soros. Now it's come out that she hired her best friend as the lead attorney for the organization, and this woman has made millions of dollars pushing one nothingburger case. That case has cost $20 million, and still isn't over, and it's not clear how so much was spent.
Also, Fair Fight Action has been modifying its claims and messages in order to fit Democratic Party narrative. In 2019 and most of 2020, they were insisting that mass disenfranchisement against black people was occurring in Georgia, and that the November 2018 election was not fair for that reason. When Biden took the state in 2020, and when two Democratic Senators won two months later, suddenly the "Georgia is unfair" narrative was being spewed by Trump. Fair Fight Action suddenly changed its position on a lot of the disenfranchisement, attempting to push the laughable narrative that the 2018 election was terrible and rigged, but the 2020 election was free and fair. LOL!
In the meantime, the courts have thrown out almost all of their claims, and now the case is down to the claim that a whopping 7 people were disenfranchised. In the meantime, more money has been spent on this legal action than any other such action in US history, and Abrams' best friend has benefited from it immensely.
Also, a separate smaller (and more obvious) scam was run by Abrams' longtime aide, where he paid out tens of thousands of dollars to his sister and friend from the Fair Fight PAC, despite neither of them having a political background, or doing any real work. This was ignored and swept under the rug until FOX News discovered it.
Fair Fight’s PAC, known officially as Fair Fight, Inc, has come under scrutiny in recent weeks. It recently launched an internal investigation after Fox News revealed that Abrams’ longtime aide and the director of the PAC, Andre Fields, paid out tens of thousands of dollars to his sister and a friend for consulting services when neither has a background in politics.
Now George Soros' organization and another liberal organization called Sixteen Thirty, both of which donated mass money to Fair Fight Action, are distancing themselves from the whole thing, and refusing to comment on these damning reports.
Liberals are such suckers for organizations which purport to fight for the underdog. They donate and feel good about themselves, but in reality these organizations are big scams meant to enrich the directors and their friends. BLM, anyone?
