Will be interested to see if the killer flipped out because he took a picture with the showgirls, didn't tip them (or didn't tip the $20+ each they ask for after the photo is taken), and then they berated and/or threatened him.
There are many horror stories of people being shaken down for $50 or more per girl, sometimes with threats of violence.
If that's really what happened, I can't feel too bad for the victims, provider no innocent bystanders were harmed.
Honestly the police should crack down on this shit.

They got some bad hombres.
I don't feel bad when criminals get killed while scamming other criminals.
With that said, it appears that this was a random attack, so my theory probably is wrong.
But they do need to crack down on that showgirl scam.
It's come to this. Canadian copycats.
Is anyone really concerned about nuclear annihilation?
Well, that's macabre:

Showgirls stabbed in deadly Las Vegas Strip attack
Witness claimed the suspect said he was a chef and wanted to take a photo with the showgirls and his kitchen knife

An attacker armed with a large kitchen knife stabbed multiple people before being arrested on Thursday, police said.
Three people were hospitalised in a critical condition and another three were in a stable condition. Las Vegas police said they began receiving 911 calls about the stabbings around 11.40am on the north end of the Strip.
Witnesses told Las Vegas TV stations that the attacker struck in several locations, and some of the victims appeared to be showgirls or street performers who take pictures with tourists on the Strip.
Police investigate at the scene after multiple people were stabbed in front of a Strip casino in Las Vegas
The suspect told a woman that he was a chef who wanted to take a picture with some of the showgirls with his knife, but he started stabbing people when the group declined the man's offer, the woman told KTNV.
Pierre Fandrich told KTNV that he did not see the stabbing suspect as he was walking along the Strip. But he said he thought he heard "three or four showgirls laughing," and it turned out to be screaming.
Mr Fandrich said he saw "a lot of blood" as one woman ran across a bridge, one was on the ground, and another had a stab wound on her back as she tried to help the fallen woman.
Mr Fandrich also told KTNV that he thought one of the victims fell from the bridge because there was so much blood on the ground.
Hours after the attack, police reassured the public that the Strip was "secure".that read: "Our hearts are with all those affected by this tragedy."
"At the State level, we will continue to work with partners in law enforcement to make resources available on the ground and ensure the Las Vegas Strip remains a safe and welcoming place for all to visit," Mr Sisolak said.
Folks, it's time to have a serious discussion. It's readily apparent that the general public cannot be trusted with owning knives. The first step is to set up a Registry of knife ownership. Then, all new knife sales should be restricted to those deemed to actually "need" a knife. (Chefs and Sous Chefs, Coroners, and Licensed and vetted Carpenters.) Anyone not deemed to "need" an knife will not be given a permit to own one. Then, they govt. should institute a Knife buyback program with a "no questions asked" policy. Whomever doesn't participate, is of course a "deplorable" and must be canceled and shamed on social media platforms. Then comes the "confiscation" operation, where we do door to door canvasing of who owns a knife and confiscated any not permitted knives. Very simple to do folks and we can do it prior to the 2024 election cycle. Any politician who doesn't go along will be branded as pro crime and tied to the events of January 6. Let's do this.
